  1. Yes, it was BAMTech, which was sold by the MLB to Disney. Each team received $50 million. But that was still chump change compared to what MLB teams get annually through revenue sharing — ~$200+ million. Just owning a team pays for itself and earns money. There’s reasons why teams maintain such low payrolls and it wasn’t always to tank for draft picks.
  2. That 1.50 WHIP is apparently sexy to Getzy.
  3. MLB teams profit on local TV revenue, ticket sales, merchandise sales, parking, concessions, etc. However, you need to look into revenue sharing as well. For example, MLB.tv revenue goes to the central MLB fund, which is eventually divided up amongst all 30 teams for revenue sharing, along with the luxury tax, and other forms of revenue. https://www.thetribune.ca/sports/mlb/
  4. But he walks way too many guys.
  5. Were the Jesse White Tumblers already booked somewhere else? I thought that used to be the Bulls go to performance.
  6. Big news here… 😉 “White Sox re-signed INF Nick Podkul to a minor league contract.”
  7. Sure, but it’s obvious Jerry doesn’t want to spend money on him or good free agent position players. So Getz is going to trade him for position player prospects.
  8. This is true as well. There’s what makes sense, and what the Sox do. 🤣
  9. Exactly. Benintendi in the second half… 235 PA .263 AVG .328 OBP .502 SLG .830 OPS 13 HR 38 RBI It makes zero sense to ruin any trade return by including Benintendi. The payroll is already one of the lowest in the MLB. You may as well see if Benintendi continues his good second half into 2025 and then you can likely trade him without it hurting so bad.
  10. There are really only two realistic outcomes and one is bad, very bad.
  11. I don’t quite understand your second outcome. There’s only one reason that a team would take on Benintendi and his contract in a Crochet trade, and that is to pay less in the form of prospects for Crochet. The return of a trade of Crochet and Benintendi won’t be “about the same” as a trade of Crochet alone. Teams don’t take on $47.5 million in salary over the next 3 years for free, and we all know that Benintendi’s .685 OPS and noodle arm in LF isn’t worth that money.
  12. Exactly. The Sox payroll is at like $66 million after anticipated arbitration payouts. There’s no reason for this team to neuter a Crochet or Robert trade return by including Benintendi. It’s not like Getz is going to spend any of the freed up money anyways.
  13. Oh god, they are still doing that? How horribly lame.
  14. “It’s unclear if the former All-Star has drawn any sort of attention or if the team is simply making him available.“ 🤣🤣🤣
  15. First lead all season. Shows how awful Eberflus has been.
  16. Awesome throw to Swift there while on the run.
  17. But unfortunately you can’t get his autograph. Could be worth a pretty penny.
  18. Tyrique Stevenson is terrible. How many big plays does he give up?
  19. Yes. I noticed that comment too. Please stop erasing threads that have his vast nuggets of knowledge. You are stealing from the rest of us. Where else can I read about how bums like Nicky Lopez and Corey Julks were improvements to the White Sox?
  20. What a terrible trade that was for both sides Chicago. “Rangers re-signed RHP Codi Heuer to a minor league contract.“
  21. And the Sox acquired him like I wanted. But no where did I claim that he would be some superstar. Just like last offseason, Getz should be acquiring former highly rated prospects around their mid 20’s to see what they may do, not the old veteran bums that he continues to waste money on. But this is simply more of you manipulating history, just like you always do. Notice how I post the actual evidence in the form of the posts that you actually made last year? You just mostly spout BS and slant it in a way to make it look worse than what was actually said. FYI — trying to praise almost every move a terrible team and a terrible GM make is not a very wise choice. You will definitely end up being wrong far more times than being right.
  22. But seriously, imagine paying $225 dollars for the MVP Experience after the team just made the record books for being one of the worst teams in MLB history.
  23. Eh, I’m not so sure about that. I think plenty of Sox fans would actually pay the money to go blast Jerry and Getz. I wouldn’t, because then I would be funding these clowns more money. But many Sox fans would. This was a strategic move by the Sox to avoid being lambasted by a massive crowd of angry Sox fans.
  24. No, they were a week away from being DFA by a real organization. The White Sox finally caught up and cut one of the two. 🤣
