  1. Who kicks a 57 yard field goal in a tie game to give the ball back to Stroud on the 43 yard line? Ballsy.
  2. I really wouldn’t doubt they are heavy on Snell and Cease. I mean, they need another top starter, so it’s pretty obvious that it makes sense.
  3. Bingo. This is the other factor. Heyman is a loyal servant to his lord and master Boras. All three players mentioned (Cease, Snell, and Montgomery) are Boras clients. Boras is working for Snell and Montgomery to get their money, but he has no motivation to worry about Cease right now because he won’t be a free agent for two more years. Snell and Montgomery are Boras’s priorities right now. Cease is getting paid the same through arbitration the next two years regardless of what team he is on, because he is obviously going to free agency.
  4. The article’s excerpt clarifies this (see below). To me, this means that either Getz is asking the moon for Cease (and rightfully so) and/or Cashman and other GMs are trying to lowball Getz. Also, the excerpt infers that Snell and Montgomery are asking for huge money. But I don’t see any way that this means that Getz is not trading Cease this offseason.
  5. I know we feel bad but just imagine being a Panthers fan. You just took the wrong QB and have to watch the Bears do whatever they want with your #1 pick. Putrid.
  6. Anyone Bears fan who watches both Stroud and Fields and is happy to settle for Fields is insane. It’s not even close. Stroud’s supporting cast is worse than Fields’ and Stroud keeps losing his receiver targets, yet still keeps getting it done.
  7. Is there any way Jones stays in CF? Dude is a behemoth.
  8. I understand the Brewers not trading Burnes cuz they can still compete but who in the hell thinks Getz isn’t trading Cease? There is ZERO path to contention so why would they not trade him?
  9. I like how they don’t want to give up the Martian OR Jones.
  10. Assuming Getz does not acquire Ortiz in a Cease trade, what are you going to do with him since he has no place to play for the Orioles?
  11. Would it be surprising if Caballero turns into a stud? The Rays seem to always make these moves for hidden gems.
  12. Bloopers and chopper-two-hoppers. The only people that would be impressed by this are Hawk and @poppysox. Yuck.
  13. That’s cuz Baltimore prospects are the best, just ask Orioles fans. The Sox should trade Cease for the prospect that Orioles fans are desperate to move cuz they know he’s old and they have nowhere to play him. A 25.5 year old headlining “prospect” for a top starter. GTFOH. This is comical.
  14. Well, that’s only possible if you still think Ortiz is rated the 50th overall prospect in the MLB, which he won’t be due to his age once MLB updates their list.
  15. I never said he was 27. I believe that was another poster who has since corrected himself. He’s 25 and a half. He is 6 months away from turning 26 and only has a total of 33 at bats in the majors. He’s extremely old for a “prospect”. This isn’t an opinion. It’s a fact. I think Getz would love to acquire Ortiz, if he was still a 22 year old prospect, not an aging “prospect” who basically needs to start in the majors in 2024 or else he will lose all value. There basically aren’t many options with Ortiz which is the problem.
  16. It’s almost like even MLB media and fans know that Ortiz has nowhere to go to due his age and team, and are trying to force the Orioles to trade his ass for his own sake… But yeah, he’s still that 25.5 year old headlining young prospect that was rated 50 overall by the MLB last year!!!
  17. Oh man, Joey Ortiz’s old ass jumped from 50 overall to 90 overall. I wonder why…
  18. It kind of goes along with the Orioles prospect-hugging GM. I believe James Fox has been saying all along that he wouldn’t be surprised if a GM with balls like Cashman pulls the trigger on a Cease trade before the sackless wonder Elias ever does.
  19. True story. The 2016 White Sox signed a 37 year old Jimmy Rollins as their opening day starting shortstop. Needless to say, it was the last season he ever played before retirement. Its what they do.
