Just heard on the radio that Crochet hasn’t pitched 4 innings in a game since college.

This is probably the single best argument right here. Sox are going nowhere this season. Another year of control over Crochet for the Sox and in a trade makes way more sense than anything.

The draft pick screwed Snell but he still gets a guaranteed $62 million over the next two years whether he performs or not. If he’s good, he can enter free agency again next year with no draft pick attached.

The only negative is that Lee is still striking out a lot. 33% this spring. I’d have a lot more hope if he cut those down a bit.

He definitely should. He was good this Spring and was the Yankees #3 prospect in 2021. He’s still only 24. He’s the perfect example of the type of bullpen guy Getz should always be trying to acquire for next to nothing.

But did you know that he supposedly worked out and stretched out all winter for a starter’s work load? He’s throwing Buehrle innings this year — 245!

Did someone actually state that Crochet is ready for a starter’s workload this season? The same guy who has thrown 73 total major league innings since 2020? There’s no way the Sox were expecting 150-180 innings out of Crochet this year.

I was told that the Sox front office and analytics people were telling Grifol to start Sheets in RF this spring. Regardless of whose decision it was/is, if Sheets receives a chunk of starts in RF, the Sox are as stupid as we think they are.

You have to take Odunze if he’s there at 9. Allen is 32 years old. We have him for 1 year, maybe 2-3 if Poles works an extension. Odunze gives Caleb a ridiculous receiving core now and into the future.
