  1. Or, all 4 teams want Cease and all submit offers for him and Getz gets the pick of the best offer? And may even then try to get the teams to up their offers slightly, using this multiple team competition for his services. You sure seem to think it’s your way or the highway, as if you were a planted bug on Getz’s cell phone.
  2. More teams being interested is always better than less and it could help increase the return.
  3. Sure seems like Getz waiting is starting to pay off with all this latest interest. Also, it sure doesn’t seem like teams want to overpay Snell and Montgomery.
  4. Well, public if you think the New York Post is a reliable source of information. I guess for baseball news it could be.
  5. Mayo is 6’5”, 230. Unless he’s the second coming of Troy Glaus, I have a hard time believing he would stick at 3B for any team even if the Orioles decide to keep him and play him at 3B rather than move him to 1B.
  6. Agreed, if he can’t play 3B, I don’t understand the massive hype.
  7. I think Fields has had enough games to prove he isn’t the guy, and one game against the Packers shouldn’t really factor in the decision, one way or the other. I would like to see a QB at #1, best player available of the Bears many needs with the Bears 1st round pick, and Fields traded to the Falcons for a 2nd round pick.
  8. Definitely. I hope it’s true because it will likely ensure that Getz gets the best offer of prospects rather than say trying to get the best pitching-heavy offer from a team that may not have the best pitching prospects over bats. As far as the Cardinals go, am I nuts to think that their top prospects don’t look very appealing and/or are too far from the majors?
  9. Righty outfielder with no power. Meh.
  10. Agreed, it seems a bit strange that any sportswriter would try to bring Omar Vizquel of all people back to the forefront of baseball and attempt to clear his name. How many baseball fans are currently wondering what Omar Vizquel is up to these days? Probably not even Indians fans. This sure seems like Jerry’s buddy providing a follow-up story so Jerry can claim ignorance about what was going on in the clubhouse regarding Vizquel.
  11. 2 years IS controllable. A team could immediately flip the player, trade the player at the upcoming season’s trade deadline, trade the player during the next year’s offseason, or trade the player at the next year’s trade deadline. That’s 4 total chances to move a player, which is definitely “controllable”.
  12. I never claimed to know the answer to that question. But I do know that Justin Fields can’t consistently read his receivers and is also prone to giving up too many turnovers in the form of late game interceptions and fumbles. But since you like to ask so many follow-up questions, do you think that Fields is as good as Manning, Brady, Mahomes, and Stafford? I’m going to be lazy and just use passer rating. Sorry, but my expectations are higher than what Fields currently is after 3 years of development. Justin Fields: 2021 — 73.2 2022 — 85.2 2023 — 85.8 CJ Stroud: 2023 — 99.0
  13. There’s a difference between your team not being terrible and your team not having a franchise QB that can win a Super Bowl.
  14. I don’t believe that one guy is the end-all/be-all decision-maker on every draft pick. Multiple Sox employees agreed to take Jacob Gonzalez, and I’m sure some of those same scouting department people are still employed by the Sox today. Jerry never truly cleans house, and even he himself likes to meddle on the draft and tell his GM who to choose.
  15. You are doing way too much maneuvering in your head and making way too many assumptions at this point in time to predict 2025. How can you even know that the Bears would have a top 12 or so pick in 2025, at this time, based on a trade down? The Bears own pick likely won’t be as high as 12 in 2025 because they will probably be at least an average or above average team by then. And you don’t always end up trading down the #1 overall pick with a terrible team.
  16. You can’t just assume that if the Bears trade down yet again, they will get a high enough pick to draft the best QB available. At #1 overall, you have a shot at the best QB in the draft unless you choose poorly (like the Bears with Trubisky and like the Panthers with Young). CJ Stroud is already the man in his rookie season. Fields is still unproven in his third season. I’m not taking a chance on missing out on a Stroud-type talent again.
  17. Yep, I’m ready to move on. I don’t care what Fields is doing against mediocre teams in garbage time. The Falcons may not have been officially eliminated yet but when your team is starting Taylor Heinicke at QB, you are already finished. I just pray that Eberflus returning next year is a fake news. Hire an entirely new coaching staff, take a QB with #1, and recoup by trying to get back a 2nd rounder for Fields from the Falcons. Let the Falcons pay Fields the huge contract and find out if he is legit. I think they would be more than happy to for a 2nd round pick.
  18. Now explain why a team gave up as much as they did for Giolito, in the midst of a mediocre season?
  19. Amazing how we actually have recent proof that a worse pitcher with less control brought back more and yet some posters are still clueless to reality.
  20. Jerry was definitely talking [lying] about the Sox being better in 2024, during his press conference.
  21. Exactly. I can’t go dry-hump employees in the corporate world, even if I am just joking around. I would be terminated immediately if it was reported to HR, which it would be. Vizquel is a moron.
  22. I wish there was an easy way to check this but I wonder if Bob ever even reported the Vizquel story initially two years ago, or if he completely avoided it for his buddy Jerry.
  23. Nice to know Bob works under the direction of Jerry Reinsdorf.
  24. It all goes back to one man. He is to blame for everything. The GM’s he hires, managers he chooses for his GM’s, the stupid allocation of money (i.e., ticket sales vs. data analytics), the free agent spending strategy (quantity over quality), etc., etc. The guy probably has zero clue what a bad owner he is cuz he lucked into Jordan and won a WS in 2005 after an offseason of moves that all magically hit. He got extremely lucky once so he thinks he can do it again. Nothing changes until he is “gone” unfortunately. How many owners have boasted that a 2nd place is great cuz the fans keep coming back due to hope that the team improves, rather than saying anything less than the playoffs ever year is a disappointment? What a pathetic loser of an owner to allow such a stupid quote to escape from his mouth.
