It’s not irrational at all. Luck only lasts so long. It’s a reason guys like Hill and Flexen fell into the dumpster that Getz just fished them out of.

He might be worth a low A lottery ticket at the deadline that won’t pan out to anything. He’s not worth giving any innings to over the Sox own pitching prospects.

Gavin Sheets has no glove and can barely hit above the Mendoza line. He’s barely a bench player in the majors other than being a lefty and having the ability to hit the rare homerun on a meatball pitch, so of course he’s going to get starts in the outfield for our White Sox.

In an update to this story, Frank Thomas of the White Sox was rushed to the hospital after becoming violently ill after seeing Chris Getz’s most recent player acquisitions.

Pretty obvious Getz isn’t using any special analysis on these acquisitions. It’s basically who is cheap cuz they are either old and/or sucked last year.

Exactly. Getz is literally overpaying washed up bums at this point, and you could argue that they shouldn’t even be receiving anything but a minor league deal.

After seeing this ridiculous Giolito signing, Getz may be wise to wait until many more starting pitchers sign. Baltimore can’t afford anyone.

The best part is that this isn’t just a flier signing. Passan said Flexen was signed to fill out the rotation. Getz for the win.

Imagine a future in which the White Sox finally realize that signing one good player for $10 million is better than signing multiple bums for that same amount. Quantity is not always better than quality! Meet the new GM of the White Sox, same as the previous GM, and the previous GM before him.

Giolito just set the market for former aces trying to return to their previous glory and it’s $20 mill a year. Last I checked, Cease didn’t have a 7.07 ERA. This is just about the best news for Cease’s trade value that could have ever happened. Orioles fans may need to readjust their prospect proposals. There isn’t a decent free agent starting pitcher that they could even afford in this market.

Giolito and his 7.07 ERA still helping us out. With these prices, who could the Orioles even hope to afford on the open market? ?
