Ultimately, it probably means nothing in the grand scheme of things but Moustakas can backup 3B and 1B and it ideally means Sheets is not on the opening day roster so Grifail won’t have the opportunity to play him in the outfield.
-
That ship has sailed. Even with the injuries to their rotation, I think it’s pretty obvious that Elias isn’t giving up either of those guys for Cease.

Who says the Sox can’t sign Boras clients?!? ?
-
Sucks that he had a chance to play with his brother in Seattle but now is the chance for the Sox to grab him. They should’ve grabbed him the first time he was cut by the Pirates. For a team that has trouble finding lefty corner outfielders, the Sox should be jumping at any that become available and hope one of them pans out (DeLoach, Smith-Njigba, etc.).
-
Meanwhile, Smith-Njigba is a 24 year old lefty corner outfielder with good minor league numbers. Worth a shot. Sheets had his chances and has proven himself to be a DH that can’t hit.
-
Bingo. With Moustakas on board, this is a no-brainer move. If they want to keep Sheets in AAA, cut someone else to make room for Smith-Njigba.

Eh, maybe, but I doubt Grichuk is more concerned with going to a competitor rather than getting more money. Pillar gets $3 million if he makes the roster. I wouldn’t be surprised if Grichuk is a White Sox if they offered him a million more than Arizona and guaranteed him $3 million.

Supposedly, Hahn wanted to trade Tim Anderson to the Marlins for Jake Eder but Kenny overrode him and sent Burger instead. I have no idea if this is true but this is the rumor as I remember it. The Marlins must be offering Anderson a cheap one year “prove it” deal so he can try to have a good season and hit free agency again.

Sox will have another shot at this guy. “Mariners designated OF Canaan Smith-Njigba for assignment to claim RHP Levi Stoudt off waivers from the Reds.”
-
Yikes, this makes the Pillar signing look awful. Basically a 1-year, $2 million dollar deal for a guy who can play all three outfield spots and had a .779 OPS last year.
-
What’s worse? Giving Nicky Lopez $4.3 million or Merrifield $8 million?
-
Colas turns 26 in a month and a half. He needs to turn into something quickly. Otherwise, he’s just another AAAA guy.
-
Even less shocking — that the Sox finally signed him five years after first showing interest when he is old and washed-up.
-
Clevinger as well. Beggars can’t be choosers, and both guys would probably sign relatively cheap.ly.
-
Sure, but I don’t need to listen to Levine for this to make sense. The Orioles were hit hard with injuries to their rotation.

Thanks for sharing this. I missed all of this news.

Getz is Mr. Glove guy. There’s no way he’s a fan of Sheets. And I can’t blame him either, with Sheets’ bat getting worse over the years. If he can’t do either well, what good is he? A pinch hitter that you pray jacks one out at the right time late in a game? Very limited role and usefulness.

Sheets is sooooo not making the roster.

My friend has a friend in the CPD. Here is the story. Makes this strange occurrence make more sense now. “So she indeed snuck a 25 auto so just little bigger than a 22 handgun inside her fat. She went to adjust the gun at her seat when it accidentally discharged and grazed her and struck her friend in leg. Best part. All of them are CPS teachers. Teacher appreciation night at the cell. Initial cop commander says to stop game. He's overridden by mayor and top cop to not say anything and the coverup begins with the outside bullet theory. Mayor has silenced all cops. They have them on video. Another teacher picks up the gun and runs out of stadium. This fat teacher is best friends with the mayor and is actually lives in suburbs which is illegal for CPS teachers to do.”

His bat has gotten worse over the years but I’m not sure how playing him out of position is to blame. More than likely, pitchers just figured out the massive hole in his swing at the dish. He’s just more AAA fodder that was drafted too high by the Sox.
-
Well, he’s a lefty but the last time he was a power bat was 2019 with the Brewers. He has never played the outfield in his career. But I will support any move that gets Sheets off of the roster and prevents Grifail from playing him in the outfield.
-
He has none after the one and only dumbest team in the MLB gave him a manager job when no one else would have.
