His bat has gotten worse over the years but I’m not sure how playing him out of position is to blame. More than likely, pitchers just figured out the massive hole in his swing at the dish. He’s just more AAA fodder that was drafted too high by the Sox.
-
Well, he’s a lefty but the last time he was a power bat was 2019 with the Brewers. He has never played the outfield in his career. But I will support any move that gets Sheets off of the roster and prevents Grifail from playing him in the outfield.
-
He has none after the one and only dumbest team in the MLB gave him a manager job when no one else would have.
-
Most managers will just provide the most obvious Spring Training fluff that that no one will care about. Grifol likes to go the opposite route and spout non-sensical crap that just absolutely pisses Sox fans off.

Mlb.com Sox projected lineup and rotation is out

Exactly why I have no idea Maldonado got $4.25 million and Grandal got $2.5 million. -
Luckily, we probably only have one more year of Grifol.

Rinse and repeat. This guy is delusional.
-
It’s like everyone associated with the Sox intentionally say stupid things to piss off Sox fans.

That’s bottom of the order is about as putrid as it gets. -

Good numbers are obviously better than bad but his last 674 at bats were in the inflated PCL. I still have high hopes for him though. -

Further proof of why a stud QB means more than all else, and why the Bears need to keep looking for one rather than sticking with Fields. -
Yeah, no good free agents want to come to the Sox because of their bad defense. It has nothing to do with Getz offering sub-$8 million dollar a year contracts.

How does Maldonado get $4.25 million?

I was thinking the same at that point. -

Trubisky is still better. -
Yep, Boras doesn’t give hometown discounts, like Buehrle and Danks were willing to do. John Danks and his younger brother Jordan ditched Boras before John signed his extension with the Sox. It’s likely the reason the extension got done. Danks wanted to extend with the Sox and Boras more than likely wanted to take him to free agency. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2008/06/10/boras-out-of-picture-for-danks-brothers/

Sox invite 25 to Spring Training including Danny Mendick

Chavez was probably one of the best relievers Getz brought in if you looking at his numbers over that last few years, granted he doesn’t fall off the cliff at age 40, which is entirely possible. He hasn’t yet though. -
Sox looking at building in South Loop

Location, location, location. GRF doesn’t have it. It looks like the new ballpark will. I love the argument that Sox fans prefer to drive to games, park, and tailgate rather than commute to games and go to bars. The public transportation commute and bar scene at GRF is weak, which is why fans prefer to do the former. This is not difficult to understand. -

Oh, I don’t really mean with a terrible team like this one. Mostly with all the Hahn teams when he would spread out millions on a bunch of overpriced relievers and old veteran position players rather than invest in one or two good position players and sign some veteran relievers and backup players to cheap minor league deals. I hope Getz remembers this going forward. -

Not sure if you are just being sarcastic and think it won’t happen or will be delayed but it doesn’t take that long to build a stadium these days. Globe Life Field was built in less than 30 months and has a retractable roof. https://www.mlb.com/rangers/ballpark/facts-figures#:~:text=The official groundbreaking for Globe,in less than 30 months. -

What Would @tray Say (WWtS)? -
I don’t think it’s the greatest comparison. Altuve is old. He’s turning 34 in May. What team was going to jump to give him huge dollars if he became a free agent at 34.5 years of age? Instead, he was just extended for 5-years and $125 million dollars until his age 39 season, and now he doesn’t have to worry about the risk of injury or decline until he became a free agent in a year. He also gets to stay with the team he loves and possibly win another World Series.
