  1. The Sox have a decent amount of pitching but it’s questionable to say it’s all quality.
  2. No, but I don’t think end of the year elbow inflammation is a good sign of things to come after a one full season workload as a closer.
  3. The Sirotka trade was on January 14, 2001. According to Keith Law’s Wikipedia page, he was hired by the Blue Jays in 2002.
  4. Sirotka literally never pitched again in the majors. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/sirotmi01.shtml It looks like he signed a minor league deal with the Cubs after never pitching for the Blue Jays but he never made the team. https://www.ourmidland.com/news/article/After-Two-Years-Sirotka-Eager-to-Pitch-7068683.php
  5. No. Your vibe is wrong. He is the second coming of this guy…
  6. He’s going to turn into peak Adam Eaton and you are going to fall in love with his grindiness.
  7. But then we are looking at a Burnes-like return anyways.
  8. The Diamondbacks just signed Joc Pederson for one year and $9.5 million dollars, but he’s evidence that you can find a replaceable short-term LF on the cheap almost annually, which is a good argument for not throwing $75 million at Benintendi. But I do like this trade.
  9. Vera, Mena, they will both be just another failed international signing of a starting pitcher. Would you like to provide a list of internationally acquired starting pitchers that HAVE panned out for the Sox?
  10. Why do you not like the Santos trade?!? The Sox don’t have a very good history with arm/elbow soreness. If usually leads to surgery like @Lip Man 1 keeps saying. Regardless, a good closer on this team for the next couple years should always be trade bait, just like the next man up, Jordan Leasure.
  11. I would not put any money on Santos staying healthy next year. This reminds me of the Mike Sirotka trade. The Sox selling high on knowingly damaged goods. But this return will likely be better than an obese and drunk David Wells for one year.
  12. I like both trades. Mena will be lucky to make the majors as a reliever. I don’t get the love for him. He will likely go the way of Norge Vera.
  13. @tray will be tailgating by himself at Guaranteed Rate Field, wondering where everyone is.
  14. This is a great trade. The Sox turned Kade McClure into this return. Yes, Kade McClure.
  15. Agreed. This would be a slam dunk IMO if Fletcher was at least a couple years younger. But at least he showed some talent in around 100 at bats. Better than how our position prospects do when they hit the bigs.
  16. If he only OPS’s just over .700, it was a bad trade. I’m hoping for closer to .775.
  17. It should be the end of Sheets. Maldonado or Lopez can backup 1B in a pinch. ?
  18. Right after the announcement that Eloy was removed from the starting lineup due to a trade.
  19. I just see a guy that had one good half season in 2020. He was a weaker hitter than Madrigal in the minors. That slappy crap doesn’t work in the majors.
  20. He has a smaller salary than Nicky Lopez. Chances are much higher that the Sox look to move Eloy if he has a good first half and can actually stay healthy.
  21. The Cubs are starting Michael Busch at 1B. Also, why are you expecting a first baseman to be a fast baserunner?
  22. Why would the Sox dump their young and cheap first round pick and who would they start at first base instead?
  23. Collapse from what? He never had a bat to begin with. ?
