  1. Yep. Stone kind of clowned him a bit and said that they would have to win 80% or more of their games, but anything is possible.
  2. This just ruined an already sad day. Pour one out for Psycho Sid / Sid Vicious… https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/former-wwe-champion-sid-eudy-204000515.html
  3. The GM barely shows his face. The owner rarely does. They both know what’s up.
  4. Just look at the results and you will know what to believe.
  5. That season also had one of my favorite deadline trades. Harold Baines was already done by that time but Charles Johnson was awesome when they acquired him.
  6. I guess that makes sense then. I read it wrong and thought Amaya was headed to the big league club. Now add Colas and let Benintendi DH.
  7. I was referring to the rhyme or reason behind both Senzel and Amaya, not the Ramos move. Ramos should be up, as well as Colas. Benintendi can DH, and maybe he keeps hitting.
  8. Tray reminded me of the 2000 lineup. Five 20+ HR hitters, some well above or slightly below 20 HR in that lineup. Team batting line of .286 / .356 / .470 / .826 on the season. Beastly lineup but we never had the pitching in those days to win in the playoffs.
  9. If Getz whiffs on the Crochet and Robert trades like he did on his trades for Fletcher and Vargas, you may as well close up shop for 5+ years. That’s probably how long it will take for Getz to build something even close to resembling a major league quality lineup from his existing farm system and the draft, since we know he won’t be a player for any good free agent position players.
  10. Probably would need to go through the page below month-by-month and see if it could be copied and pasted to a spreadsheet, while filtering out any noise. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/roster/transactions
  11. Not that anyone predicted he would be good but Romy Gonzalez is a great example of why you don’t waste money on Little Nicky.
  12. True, if he has a glove, if just shows why you don’t give Nicky Lopez $4.3 million dollars just because you have some payroll to spend.
  13. 27 years old with a decent amount of MLB experience is probably about as young as you are going to be able to grab a player who was either a high draft pick or had a good season in the past. Amaya is turning 26 in a week and has 10 career plate appearances in the majors. At least Getz acquired a somewhat youngish player, even though he can’t hit at all. Perhaps Getz is slowly learning?
  14. Were the four wins relatively close together? That may be why it seems like that.
  15. When I saw that he was DFA’ed last week and he was an infielder, I had a feeling Getz would claim him. He hits about as well as Little Nicky in the minors. I guess he’s still young?
  16. Sorry, didn’t see you post this. But yeah, why did Getz acquire these older proven terrible players rather than the younger guys like Bart and Robles that still may have some juice left in their tank?
  17. For this team, a 29 year old with a .662 OPS in 1,633 plate appearances in the majors was not worth acquiring. He is what he is. Besides, he only had 32 plate appearances with the Sox so they weren’t really trying to fix anything.
  18. For this decision, Getz likely listened to Mike Tosar, the former Dodgers scout that initially signed Vargas. Mike Tosar, also the same Sox assistant hitting coach that was fired a week after Vargas was acquired.
