  1. My buddy has friends in the CPD and told me the inside story almost immediately after the incident happened.
  2. So you have never made such a shot with a .25 ACP pocket pistol almost straight up into the air. Got it… No, and that’s not what happened at all. She accidentally shot herself through the leg adjusting the pocket pistol in her fat rolls as she was seated. The only conspiracy is the cover-up by the CPD under the order of the woman’s friend, the mayor. The mayor covered up the truth to protect her friend, the “victim”, as it would be bad press for a Chicago Public School teacher to have a gun, albeit legally. However, she is a CPS teacher living in the suburbs, not in Chicago, which is against the rules. The “victim’s” friend that was attending the game with her smuggled her pocket pistol out of the park immediately after the accidental discharge. What can come into the park can easily be carried out of the park, especially when she was allowed to leave without being detained or questioned.
  3. I have both the big disc set you are describing, as well as the single disc recap. Awesome stuff.
  4. So here’s my feedback on the upgrade… It has definitely sped up the site. I noticed this immediately. I have a Pi-Hole ad blocker on my home network, so my home network was already blocking all of the site’s ads, prior to the upgrade. I then switched over to my iPhone’s data so it would be outside of my Pi-Hole ad blocker and it seems like the ads between posts are now gone. However, there is only one annoyance now… The new ad is on the bottom edge of the screen. My Pi-Hole blocks the ad but still shows a white blank block over the main website in that area. When I switch to my phone data, I can see the ads in this blocked frame at the bottom of my screen. The only reason this is a negative is because it blocks out your pop-up notifications from other posters that are either responding to your posts and/or placing an emoji on your posts. Keep in mind, this is just how it looks on my iPhone, as I have not yet tested it on a PC/laptop or iPad/tablet. I hope I explained this well enough. Otherwise, I would be happy to show @Chisoxfn what is going on. But if the ad is required for the upkeep of the site, so be it. The speed uptick and far less overall ads is already a huge improvement. But it may be better if the single ad was at the top of the screen rather than the bottom, just so you can see notifications from other users. @Chisoxfn, amazing job overall. I’m in the IT field and am well versed in testing stuff so please don’t take offense and let me know if there is anything I can help with on this great site. ❤️
  5. You are correct. The lawsuit is against the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, not against Jerry and the Sox. This is just bad publicity for Jerry and the Sox. Jerry released a statement that the Sox will not comment on the shooting again. So yeah, it was a coverup by the mayor, the CPD on his orders, and the mayor’s friend, the obese woman, along with her friend who smuggled the pocket pistol out of the stadium. Jerry is aware and will obviously keep his mouth shut. The obese woman who shot herself will get her payout settlement to never discuss the situation again (NDA), which will definitely be more than $50,000. And everyone is happy, except for the public wanting to know what the hell actually happened, and the actual truth being released.
  6. Worked out great, didn’t it? You have to question what happens to a young prospect/player that becomes a multi-millionaire without ever proving anything at the MLB level.
  7. Yeah, the real story is that the bullet didn’t actually land anywhere. The obese Chicago Public School teacher tried to adjust the .25 ACP pocket pistol in her belly rolls and she caused an accidental discharge straight into her leg. Another reason for the cover-up by the obese woman’s friend, the mayor, is due to her being a Chicago Public School teacher, while actually living in the suburbs. To be a CPS teacher, you are supposed to actually live in the city. She would have lost her job as well as her pension.
  8. Oh, God forbid the Sox have a legitimately good minor league system that can actually develop their own good position players that give the Sox 6 years of control before they hit free agency. Seems like a better plan than quickly extending busts like Eloy and Moncada from other teams, while also wasting $25 to $30 million each offseason on cheap dumpster diving. It’s amazing to me that you have apparently watched this team for years and don’t see a problem with the way they do business, and don’t think a change of strategy might be worthwhile. Their current strategy hasn’t worked since 2005, but let’s keep doing stupid things just because… Have you heard of teams named the Rays? The Orioles? Would you rather be the Sox or the Rays/Orioles?
  9. I assume you are talking about shooting a .22 LR rifle almost horizontally and hitting your target with the drop due to gravity, in which you take multiple shots to adjust your aim until you get it right. Have you shot a .25 ACP pocket pistol once or twice almost straight up in the air to land it in a baseball stadium? Did you calculate the geometry, physics, and wind before you made the one or two shots?
  10. Haha, oh well. Has even one of Getz’s trades turned out well for the Sox? Even the Cease trade looks questionable at this point. BAD owners and front offices produce BAD.
  11. Apparently, the Bears just missed out on Matt Judon so they pivoted to Taylor. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bears-trade-for-seahawks-pass-rusher-after-missing-out-on-matt-judon/amp/ But the Bears only spent a 6th rounder on Taylor, rather than a 3rd rounder which the Falcons gave up for Judon, which seems like a much better move.
  12. I doubt that will ever be a problem. BR has a very loyal alumni and the football team raises a ridiculous amount of donation money each year. Last year, they doubled the donation expectation just for the football team alone. In other news, my younger son made the “A” team for the freshmen/sophomore Downers Grove South Mustangs. He’ll be starting on the OL as a freshman. I’ll post some pics of him once I get some good ones. Amazing how having kids starting in HS football leaves you almost giving two sh1ts about the Bears, but that’s how it is. You will always enjoy watching your kids and family play the sport more than the beloved Bears. Sacrilege, I know… Even better if these rugrats of mine get a scholarship to college, so I don’t have to pay. 🤣
  13. Pretty much how I think the decision was made. Epic failure by both Barfield and Getz.
  14. Benetti absolutely won at life by getting away from Jerry and his clown show organization. Benetti is WINNING!
  15. Even worse, Fletcher was a recommendation from our assistant GM Josh Barfield, who was the D-backs director of player development for four years before joining the Sox and had supposedly seen and evaluated what a good player Fletcher was. And apparently, Getz was stupid enough to listen to Barfield and take back Fletcher over Jake McCarthy for Mena. So not only do we have one GM that can’t evaluate talent, we have two GM’s that can’t!!!
  16. You may be right and I think it has to be Danny Wrong [Wright] that you are remembering.
  17. I was told he had trade value at the deadline.
  18. He is the Tigers’ Andrew Vaughn.
  19. Is it too late to take Jake McCarthy over this weak little fourth outfielder?
  20. 18 stolen bases too. If Mena was traded for McCarthy, we would all agree that it was a great trade. Instead, we got back a little person that can’t hit.
  21. I was getting the same error. I just had to reboot my Pi-Hole. But it can be just a matter of time to refresh DNS servers.
  22. No, the Sox should not keep making trades like this in which they poorly assessed the return and ultimately got robbed. While Burger is going to put up around an .800 OPS and 30+ home runs last year and this year, Eder will finish with cumulative ERAs around 6.50 in the same back to back years. At the end of the day, they got a garbage return for a player who had value.
  23. Are you on a PC/laptop? If so, did you try flushing your DNS? Open up a Command Prompt (cmd.exe) and type in: ipconfig /flushdns And hit Enter.
