  1. Yes, all that is known is that it’s a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2027.
  2. It’ll be the exact opposite of the Nintendo 64 kid…
  3. https://bolavip.com/en/amp/mlb/ny-yankees-ny-mets-and-phillies-anticipate-munetaka-murakamis-decision-announcement-date
  4. I realize your post is mostly in jest, but this statement is not true. https://www.mlb.com/news/munetaka-murakami-market-mlb?partnerID=mlbapp-iOS_article-share Also, see @caulfield12‘s more recent article above. Meanwhile, all we have is Jim Duquette saying the White Sox could sign him because they have a low payroll and money to spend. Jim must’ve forgotten who currently owns the White Sox.
  5. I see @Chicago White Sox is hitting the Christmas eggnog early and hard.
  6. Holliday’s minor league career began in 2022. Sosa started in the minors in 2017. Many more years in the minors to improve his defense over Holliday’s.
  7. It seems like the Phillies have not been willing to bend to Getz’s demands for Robert for awhile now (2+ years?). I think that ship has truly sailed.
  8. Robert just doesn’t have much incentive to sign an extension right now, especially not a hometown discount (3/$45 million). He can just play out the string on his current contract. If he performs well for whatever team he is on by the end of the 2026 season, he will either force the issue on that team picking up his final $20 million dollar option for 2027 or he will receive a $2 million dollar buyout to become a free agent and have Boras find him a long-term deal.
  9. That’s what I was referring to. 50 PA’s in ST one way or the other shouldn’t even dictate that decision, and it seems that is what Dombrowski is indicating by his quote posted above.
  10. 50 bad/fluky plate appearances in Spring Training wouldn’t convince me to give up on my top CF prospect (#3 prospect), and then pivot to give up prospect(s) and pay a questionable performing and injury prone Luis Robert 1/$22 million or 2/$40 million.
  11. Do we know this for sure? Vince Russo thinks it was all about Triple H booking his own ending for Cena due to him trying to bolster/protect his own legacy. He made good points — Gunther already lost to Sami Zayn and Jey Uso but can’t lose to Cena in his final match? Not to mention, Cena’s motto is “never give up” and they have Cena tap out? He was literally wearing socks that said “never give up.” Why ruin a bunch of kids’ memories in a meaningless match? Strange.
  12. Chatter is about all it is. If you listen to the audio clip, it is total speculation without any sources just because the White Sox “have money to spend.” Apparently the commentators don’t know that Jerry doesn’t want to spend any money.
  13. Yep, Okamoto is 29 already. Meh. Murakami is just 25 and will demand more money and years. I doubt the Sox will be players for either guy.
  14. Unfortunately, Getzie is still sitting at the kiddie table on this one. 😉 I think I’d rather see what our own arms can do than give this guy $5.5+ million anyways.
  15. Anyone but the Mets and utility man Acuna please.
  16. But it does align with this source. I wouldn’t trade for $20 million dollar Robert if I had Crawford waiting in the wings either.
  17. Do you mean the stats for framing or the art of framing itself? Framing will be useless if umpires are ever replaced but for now it is a skill that can change pitching counts and games.
  18. I think once the Ishbia era begins, we can all get excited for the offseason. Until then, it’s just going to be frugal signings.
  19. Ugh. This Acuna thing is going to happen, isn’t it?
  20. Spending money on top guys isn’t probable for the Sox in any market.
