  1. Teams probably already know this but the Sox are making it obvious that he won’t be good for 150+ innings next year.
  2. Crochet is now at 133 innings, which no one thought he would really reach without struggling/dead arm. The Sox seem determined to get him to 150+ innings, even though his ERA will likely be in the 4’s and they will have hurt his trade value for the offseason. This team could f*** up a wet dream.
  3. I doubt that is a factor at all. The Sox won’t be playing in the good free agent pool next offseason. They should tell Moncada to stay home, enjoy his direct deposit, and play younger players in his place that might actually be on the team next year. Your scenario should be a non-factor for this team. By the time this team is signing “quality” free agents, Moncada will be a distant memory. Besides, ultimately, money talks and bullshit walks. No free agent a few years from now will care or even remember what the Sox did with Moncada. “Oh, so Moncada was finally healthy but the Sox told him to stay home?” The next question from the free agent would be — “But did he still get paid?”
  4. @tray, serious question. Do you just hate this new location because of the related aesthetics you have mentioned among other reasons, or do you happen to live very close to the current ballpark? Just curious if it may be more convenient for you to go to a Sox game where they currently reside, rather than if they moved to the new 78 location?
  5. Oh yeah, @South Side Hit Men’s exit sucked as well. Why did he leave exactly? He would always post a YouTube song related to the situation / game thread. Also a Chicago hot dog connoisseur. Very informative and entertaining poster. Quite honestly, following some of the posters on this site has been more interesting, informative, and exciting than watching the White Sox. I guess that’s what happens when your team sets records… the bad ones.
  6. Positive? I thought @CaliSoxFanViaSWside basically has been saying that no one could have success, Getz or any other GM, because JR is the true problem. While I think there are various levels of bad, and Getz has done worse than other potential candidates could have done, he does have a point with targeting JR. Ultimately, they are all part of the same shitshow and JR is the ultimate boss over everyone, including Getz or any other GM he would have hired. And JR definitely has a vise grip over his purse strings when the Sox are bad. My favorite poster is @Balta1701 because he literally self-banned himself when Clevinger was re-signed, and then came back to posting once Clevinger was injured for the season. That’s fucking devotion to your beliefs!
  7. Hopefully these were the stupid scouts that didn’t like Norby and De Los Santos as prospects. The Marlins owned the trade deadline when they moved AJ Puk and Trevor Rogers, both similar assets to what Getz had in Fedde and Kopech, but they got these guys back for them instead of Vargas and infield prospects… Connor Norby Deyvison De Los Santos Good God, Getz and gang suck balls.
  8. The last I remember is that the Mariners have DFA’ed Seby twice this season and no other team claimed him. Seby accepted his demotion to the Mariners’ AAA team both times.
  9. www.WestEddyInteractive.com If you post anything negative about Getz, you get perma-banned by the one and only mod and owner of the site.
  10. Okay, forgot about Bannister teaching Martin the kick change.
  11. Great point. He has been hyped up as another pitching guru like Katz, yet the overall results aren’t there. I assume people are giving him credit mainly for Crochet and Fedde?
  12. This is a bit scary since they are both the same age (just turning 26). It does seem like Colas is the odd man out.
  13. All while accusing other posters of hyperbolic statements that they never said.
  14. To be fair, I had to check to see if the poster (@spiderman) that you were replying to brought up what the Tigers did after their 2003 season. Because outside of a similar record setting losing season, it didn’t really make sense to even mention. But the kicker of it all is that you actually said, “I don't know if Getz has that going for him, right now.” Yes, you DO know, as we ALL know, that Getz does not have that going for him right now because Jerry isn’t approving an increase in payroll for next season. All the reports have been that the Sox will scale down to a $100 million dollar payroll for 2025.
  15. Be careful. Another poster may yell at you about bringing up that JR press conference again…
  16. Yep, and all the old guys in that scene are Sox scouts…
  17. Looks like he is the VP of a car dealership in Oak Lawn, as well as an Assistant Scouting Director for the White Sox. It also looks like he retweeted a Barstoolsports Dave Portnoy review for a pizza place in Oak Lawn. Maybe he’s a multi-tasker? 🤣 His Twitter page lists both roles but it looks like he doesn’t have his White Sox career listed on his LinkedIn page so maybe he left? UPDATE: Garrett Guest is listed as the Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting on the White Sox Front Office webpage, but haven’t there been instances where this site was out-of-date in the past? https://www.linkedin.com/in/garrett-guest-96b549182
  18. Here are all four guys from that video which was dated June 3rd, 2018. I checked their LinkedIn pages and other sources and it looks like they are all still employed by the Sox. Below are their current titles and years with the Sox. 1.) Nick Hosteter (Special Assistant to the GM) - 20+ years with Sox 2.) J.J. Lally (Crosschecker) — 25+ years with Sox 3.) Garrett Guest (Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting; VP / Dealer Principal of South Oak Jeep, Dodge, and Ram) — ??? years with Sox 4.) Nathan Durst (Professional Scout) — 27+ years with Sox Would it be crazy to bring in some scouts from other organizations? I realize it’s not all on them but what have these guys proven to be good at in 20+ years? They seem to be more Jerry lifers.
  19. Now it just needs several holes drilled into the bottom of it. That’s what carrying water for the White Sox is truly like.
  20. Does that leave them at zero now? 🤣
  21. The favors that Grandal and Moncada both received was getting overpaid for their production and health, or lack there of. I really hope this isn’t a thing.
  22. Regardless of what JR said, Getz had experience with this organization so he would know the current players better than an outside hire. This would be an accurate assumption, no? And “a bad record”? How about a historically bad, record setting season? Don’t minimize it! Getz is going to do what no GM before him could accomplish, whether they were trying to win or tanking intentionally! Now that’s truly impressive! I also don’t think you can just assume that Hahn/KW prevented Getz from changing things, one way or the other. Perhaps Getz simply didn’t want to rock the boat in his previous position? But props to him for changing things now. Finally, I don’t like Getz because the majority of his moves have been terrible, not because of a Reinsdorf press conference. The narrative that Getz is a bad GM remains alive because the majority of his moves have sucked.
  23. Yes, and he also helped build the Astros into a powerhouse when he joined them in 2011 and they were in the dumps. But I see your point.
  24. Sizemore don’t quit, even when he probably shouldn’t have taken the job to begin with. Poor bastard.
