  1. Yep, seems that way so far but it’s still early. I still have a lot of faith in Thorpe but I’m not sure he will ever be an ace with a 91-93 mph fastball. But I also had high hopes for Zavala. He is not impressing right now unfortunately.
  2. Terrible offseason… Schizophrenic roster decisions… Questionable draft (but to be determined)… And I am confident he is going to absolutely fvck up this trade deadline…
  3. At least Thorpe has many more years to improve. Salvy Perez ending Kyle Hendricks’ career was just sad to watch.
  4. I’ve said this numerous times but this is @JUSTgottaBELIEVE’s MO. He craps on every player the Sox trade away and hypes up only players the Sox receive. He also likes to use “moment in time” stats to crap on the outgoing players. Here’s a perfect example of him getting burned, and it only took one day. I am definitely not happy to be right here, as I like Thorpe and hope he has massive success, but the lack of strikeouts was an obvious red flag for him so far. Sure, Thorpe is better for the Sox due to years of control, but he ain’t as good as Cease, not yet if ever.
  5. Don’t let the awful Sox distract you even for a minute from overcooking a steak. f*** that…
  6. Sox are failing at this game as bad as Getz is failing at the trade deadline.
  7. It’s not happening. Elias will only trade his lesser prospects for pitching.
  8. I’ll pass on the 29 year old. Thanks.
  9. Only this pathetic team could F things up this bad when they had all the chips to trade and no reason to keep anyone. Epic failures. All of them.
  10. I was thinking the same thing but he is banned for a year for betting on baseball.
  11. But why would they feel the pressure they should when they can look no further than the clown manager whom keeps his job through all sorts of failure and embarrassment? This is one of the reasons why JR’s teams are so dysfunctional.
  12. https://sports.yahoo.com/what-im-hearing-ahead-of-the-mlb-trade-deadline-latest-updates-on-garrett-crochet-reid-detmers-and-more-234547129.html
  13. Nice conspiracy theory, but the Sox don’t need any help from Heyman for fans to be upset. The owner sucks, he gifted the GM job to an unworthy candidate without interviewing anyone else from outside the organization, and they are in the middle of their worst season ever. But yeah, Heyman is the evil supervillain making up news about Crochet and making the Sox look bad. Wow… Is it really a surprise that an MLB player in the middle of a great season is trying to guarantee himself money? He is obviously not entirely confident in his ability to stay healthy, especially if he is overextended on innings. Why is it such a shocker that an MLB player, likely with an ego like most and with previous injury history, wants to guarantee himself money considering his biggest payday was a ~$4.5 million dollar signing bonus from when he was first drafted?
  14. Will it be any surprise at all when these guys pan out for the Rays?
  15. True. I like the return for Puk more. But then again, we don’t know who the PTBNL is yet.
  16. Yep, sorry. Free agent in 2027. Updated my post.
  17. Arozarena will turn 30 over the offseason and sure doesn’t seem to be improving. The Mariners will have two more expensive arbitration years left. The Rays definitely know when to dump guys.
  18. I guess neither of us know one way or the other.
  19. I just can’t wait to hear the excuses for Getz, as a follow-up to the excuses for his mostly garbage offseason. “Teams didn’t want our players…” “It takes two teams to make a deal…” ”How do you know Getz won’t get more for Crochet / Robert / Fedde in the offseason?”
  20. Getz is just outclassed by every other GM and low payroll team that knows you have to move quick with trades.
