  1. I hope you made some money off of this prediction.
  2. Moncada DID have talent. He put up a 5.2 bWAR in 2019 and a 4.0 bWAR in 2021. What has happened to him since then (injuries and laziness?) is sad and pathetic. Also, the rumor is that Kenny made the Burger trade, not Hahn, because of his relationship with the Marlins former GM Kim Ng.
  3. Maybe it’s a hidden gift. Getz won’t be able to waste even more money on the wrong bad players. Although that really only helps Jerry’s pocketbook.
  4. Agreed. While Hahn sucked just as much at free agency and dumpster diving just like Getz, he seemed to be better at recognizing talent and trading away players than Getz so far. Whether it was Hahn or Kenny, who knows?
  5. Getz was nice enough to keep this bum through two injuries. He should’ve been cut before the first injury. He’s old and bad.
  6. Not sure if he is proud of it but he seems to think it is a good idea, which is just as bad.
  7. I absolutely love the pitch clock addition. It’s not as good as watching a 1:53 hour duel between Mark Buehrle and Mark Mulder but it helps.
  8. Yep, what a joke. Getz already got back a lesser return for Fedde and Kopech and he was going to do the same thing with Crochet just to dump a salary that wouldn’t be a crutch for most teams.
  9. If Reinsdorf wants to improve this team, he would hand Orioles GM Mike Elias a blank check to fill out for his salary/contract. The guy is a wizard GM and puts Getz to shame. Remember how he passed on Crochet and Fedde? Elfin is now 4-0 with a 2.13 ERA in an Orioles uniform. Trevor Rogers, not so good, but I assume he was just insurance. “Zach Eflin recorded a season-high eight strikeouts and yielded one run over six innings on Thursday in a win over the Red Sox. Eflin has notched at least seven strikeouts in three of his four starts since coming over from the Rays at last month’s trade deadline. The 30-year-old right-hander, who generated 12 swinging strikes and finished with a 31 percent CSW in this one, limited Boston’s red-hot lineup to just five hits with a fourth-inning homer by rookie Wilyer Abreu representing the lone tally against him over six frames. He holds a sublime 2.13 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 25/2 K/BB ratio across 25 1/3 innings (four starts) for the Orioles since July 29. He’ll aim to keep the momentum going on Tuesday when he faces the Mets at Citi Field.
  10. God forbid the Sox have another player’s hot wife to throw on TV during their broadcasts that might be doing something positive like Liam Hendrik’s wife with their charity work. The Sox are so stupid…
  11. I was actually referring to the poster Harold based on his earlier post in this thread. But your point remains…
  12. So Jerry likes broadcaster that use embarrassingly cheesy catch phrases instead? Sounds about right. He also likes mediocre players like Eckstein over Harper, Machado, and Ohtani, but something tells me that’s all salary-related. ?
  13. Yeah, I remember that now. But outside of his forced retirement, one could argue that Hawk was losing it a bit. Although, old not-as-good Hawk is still light years better than Schriffen.
  14. At least one could argue that Hawk was getting too old. Benetti is in his prime at 40. But yeah, old ass Hawk was still better than Schriffen.
  15. Boyer chased a better announcer out the door, likely at the direction of Reinsdorf because JR knew that Benetti was going to become more and more expensive with his national exposure.
  16. Well, based on Jerry’s opinion on the best lineup, a rebuild shouldn’t be required. Find nine players that have a ceiling of David Eckstein. Done.
  17. How many other bums will he blame before he finally has to admit that Getz was the problem all along?
  18. To what end/purpose? To maybe win one more game this season?
  19. Yep, hitters are putting up too many “sword” stats. Ban fastballs above 99 mph!
  20. A belated and lame gesture maybe… Many Sox fans wouldn’t go to see this team if tickets were free. The team is absolute dung and you would still have to commute, pay for parking (if you drive), pay for overpriced concessions, and watch a terrible team likely lose. No thanks.
  21. I disagree. Analytics can provide a team and it’s players with the statistics, best probability, etc., but players still have to successfully employ the strategy that the analytics are telling them and the opposition of course has the ability to counter. Humans are not robots. If the analytics say to pound a guy low and inside with sliders, the pitcher still has to hit his spots and the batter can lay off of those pitches and draw a walk, or the batter can hit a mistake pitch out of the park.
  22. No more tablets. No more starting pitchers and catchers researching the lineup they are facing. No more hitters researching the pitchers they are facing. aNaLyTiCs BaD. mE aNgRy!!!
  23. He makes their jobs much easier every time he lobs a lollipop to the cutoff man. ?
