The point is, you haven’t seen a dumpster diving pickup by Getz that you haven’t liked. So if any move that Getz makes can be sugar-coated in some manner, how can he ever make a bad move?

Fact is, if you miss out on a target, you whiffed. There are no bonus points for trying.

JR allows his GMs to spread money out to a variety of mediocre to above average players, no true top free agent stars, and it pretty much never works out. Getz has already shown the same proclivity to dumpster dive for trash, in the same manner that Hahn did.

Very strange. My guess is that he doesn’t have as much confidence in his breaking balls as he does in his fastball, but the guy routinely overthrows his fastball anyways or grooves one right down the middle of the plate. May as well try to mix it up.

That’s actually impressive. Record is usually an overrated stat for most pitchers but in Soroka’s case, it perfectly matches up with his performance.

It’s a message board about the Sox. WE calls me a moron and I don’t care. Personally, I think Getz is a terrible GM and while WE may fluff up bums like Sheets and Julks, I think they will be out of baseball in a couple years. You also seem to get upset that not everyone thinks that Getz is doing a good job and you make excuses for him. Reinsdorf specifically chose him because he said he wouldn’t need a full season to assess the team. Obviously that was a load of BS but Getz has made some weird and stupid decisions that to me, outweigh his good ones.

He needs to do more than that. Let’s see a .280/.900 line with 20 homers by the deadline and he’ll be moved.
