  1. Getz essentially burned $24 million in a fire pit this past offseason. That’s pretty much Bryce Harper’s annual salary. Brebbia - $5.5 million Maldonado - $4.5 million Lopez - $ 4.3 million Soroka - $3 million Clevinger - $3 million Hill - $1.8 million Flexen - $1.75 million There is also the awful trade for Dominic Fletcher that cost Christian Mena, and the fact that Getz/Barfield chose Fletcher as the return over .800 OPS Jake McCarthy. The trade for Bailey Horn, whom was later dumped for cash. DFA’ing Romy González and Declan Cronin. DFA’ing Kevin Pillar too early. I’m sure there’s more, but those are the ones I remember.
  2. I totally forgot about Chris The Roider Davis. ”The Orioles signed Davis to a seven-year, $161 million contract in January 2016. In 2018, he set the MLB record for the lowest batting average ever for a qualified player, batting . 168. In 2019, Davis set the MLB record for the most consecutive at bats by a position player without a hit, going 0-for-54.”
  3. Proof that JR thinks it’s his way or the highway. He doesn’t like criticism or detractors. Two former players with World Series rings offer to give him some advice and he shuns them completely. I won’t say it but I can hint at it. Father Time needs to take care of the Sox biggest problem. Until then, we get to watch his sorry ass sh1t show.
  4. Meanwhile, Maldonado is at -1.4 WAR for the season and cost $4.5 million guaranteed. That’s -1 WAR worse than Seby Zavala (0.4 WAR) who is earning $756,700 on the season. We all agree that Colas should’ve been playing most of this ridiculously sh1tty season. Further proof Getz is a clown with roster management. Absolutely worthless Gavin Sheets is still playing over Colas. Romy González is at 0.8 WAR and making $740,000 on the season. Getz had to trade a valuable reliever away in Bummer to get a bunch of garbage back, including Nicky Lopez. Lopez is at a 0.3 WAR and is being paid a guaranteed $4.3 million dollars. So Getz essentially paid $7.3 million more to get -1.5 WAR less from the crappy players he already had on the roster. And keep in mind, this is just comparing two positional player acquisitions. If you factor in the rest of Getz’s acquisitions from the past offseason, it’s much worse. Trust me… Getz is a terrible GM, period. He was a former Director of Player Personnel and yet he has no clue on how to value players appropriately. He has whiffed far more times than he has signed a good player (Fedde, DeJong) and he got a bust return for Fedde.
  5. Ironically, most of the players the Sox were interested in (Benintendi) and ultimately traded for (Moncada, Kopech, Luis Alexander Basabe, and Victor Diaz) were either blah or busts. They would have ended up being better off trading Sale for Devers in a one-for-one straight up trade.
  6. Rafael Devers. This article explains how the trade went down… https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/mlb/boston-red-sox/how-close-did-the-red-sox-come-to-trading-rafael-devers-for-chris-sale-let-dave-dombrowski-explain/399563/?amp=1
  7. And trade for position player prospects, not busts with less than 6 years of control and no defensive position.
  8. Nothing, he was nice about the Sox. SS2K5 made a joke that Pham is just keeping his options open with the Sox for next year, since he’s so old and a job was tough for him to find this season.
  9. The Dodgers are a much smarter organization than the Sox and they were fine dumping him. Also, he has looked terrible for almost a full season of at plate appearances in his career and that has continued on to the Sox. You wouldn’t have rather acquired the Twins prospect, Luke Keaschall? I know I would have. What a shame…
  10. Do you disagree with all the prospect publications who had Miguel Vargas as a top 50 prospect in baseball? Haha, it doesn’t always pan out like they predict unfortunately.
  11. “Jerry’s Cheapskate Strawberry Shake”, made with strawberry Kool-Aid powder, powdered milk, vanilla extract, sugar, and ice. It will be half the price of the $15 dollar Campfire Milkshake because as Kenny always said, you can’t spend a dollar if you only have 50 cents!
  12. He’s improving but he has also bad two seasons in a row. Burger has not been bad for two seasons in a row and also isn’t earning $16.5 million dollars a year. I would expect a player who received the highest contract ever given out by the White Sox to at least put up an average performance or higher. Benintendi hasn’t even been close. Not really a good comparison.
  13. He’s hitting better than Robert. It’s pathetic. I do think it’s funny that the Sox traded away Burger who can hit home runs but has no glove last trade deadline and then acquired a guy who can’t hit at all and can’t play defense this trade deadline in Vargas.
  14. You acknowledged that he likely has TJ surgery in his future. His fastball is already very low velocity. Thorpe losing a couple ticks off of his already low velocity fastball after TJ surgery is the equivalent of an asteroid hitting the earth?
  15. Yeah, we traded a top starting pitcher trade target on a cheap contract for a bust castoff that can’t play defense that the Dodgers didn’t want.
  16. He’s on an absolute tear lately and would definitely be our best hitter. Yes, I know that isn’t saying much. But let’s how he finishes the season after a terribly slow start to it.
  17. Wait until the end of the season. He’s bringing his numbers back up to last year’s.
  18. Remember when some posters were so sure that the Sox would spend in free agency with how much money was coming off the books via departures? Oops…
  19. And what if he doesn’t get back his fastball to top off at 93 MPH after the eventual TJ surgery?
  20. The Score guys hypothesized that this is why they didn’t have all the moves listed in the initial press release that Grifol was fired. They thought the Sox weren’t sure who the interim manager would be. They guessed that the Sox initially asked Montoyo to be the interim manager but he either turned it down or asked for more money to take on a team that could set the record for worse season record, which is why they pivoted to Sizemore.
  21. LOL, what have the Sox gotten right in ages? How could you possibly be surprised by this current reaction? Getz is now selling the fact that he will likely acquire a manager from outside of the Sox organization. This is hilarious considering HIS CURRENT ROLE AS GM should have been filled from someone outside of the Sox organization! I guess the Sox were a year too late on this hiring from outside strategy, as we might actually have a competent GM right now rather than an unqualified loyal to Jerry lap dog. His offseason was a failure. His trade deadline was a failure. His entire season was a failure, and he may set the season record for futility. And here you are, mocking anyone who doubts and questions this absolute failure of a GM. Amazing.
  22. The Sox traded for a bust player without a position with their third best trade chip on the advice of a coach they just fired. This organization is dysfunctional and needs to be cleaned out entirely.
  23. He dressed down due to his nerves. Take a look at how much Getz is sweating in that video, while spouting out all of that BS. Now he may need up to 5 years to figure out the roster.
