  1. The Mets have Grimace. We have M&M Guy…
  2. Not sure what’s worse — this idea or defending the Oldy Moldy acquisition to the bitter end.
  3. Exactly what I was thinking. Here are Benintendi’s salaries over the next three seasons until he is gone: 2025: $16.5 million 2026: $16.5 million 2027: $14.5 million This past offseason, Getz spent $16.1 million on Brebbia ($5.5M), Maldonado ($4.5M), Lopez ($4.3M), and Tim Hill ($1.8M; already cut). All signings that most competent GMs wouldn’t make and would definitely wish they could undo at this point. So what player or players is our wizard of a GM missing out on signing with $16.5 million? The prospect return for Crochet in a trade without screwing it up by including Benintendi’s contract is worth more than the absolute crap players Getz would no doubt sign with that freed up $16.5 million.
  4. I’m still waiting for our Steven Kwan. Who is the last player the Sox drafted and developed with a career major league line like this? .298 / .368 / .411 / .780
  5. Eloy probably gets injured again eventually anyways, but to your point, haven’t the Sox done this in the past (bring a player back too early before he was healthy, only for them to get reinjured)? I feel like this has happened before but I just can’t remember.
  6. The Sox can’t even draft and develop guys like Kwan, much less a Ramirez.
  7. I see your point with the frequent injuries but Stanton has like 45 WAR in his career. He could retire today and still have been a huge success. Eloy is at 5.5 WAR for his career.
  8. He will join the long line of managers from Reinsdorf-owned teams that will never get another manager/head coaching job in their respective sport again.
  9. I never said those guys were good either. I agree that both Vaughn and Benintendi have been terrible. Eloy’s value was always supposed to be in his amazing bat, not his outfield play. Meanwhile, even Nick Swisher finished his career with a .799 OPS. Eloy has been a disappointment no matter how much you love him.
  10. Amazing that a guy who was supposed to be known for his bat because his glove is so bad currently doesn’t even have a career OPS of .800+. .271 AVG / .321 OBP / .478 SLG / .799 OPS
  11. What an athlete! How many times has this loser been injured simply running to first base? He should get a doctor’s note to use a scooter to get to first base after he bats.
  12. So considering LaRussa’s ex-Cardinals buddies would make it three whole options! The organization is getting more open-minded!
  13. Cool story, bro. I don’t mean to brag, but I grilled twice this weekend! So take that!
  14. Now you are bashing me. Anything but bashing the Sox GM and team, which is the real problem. Like I said, it’s your MO.
  15. This is a Sox game thread in the “Pale Hose Talk” forum. Talking about the Sox GM in this thread and forum is more appropriate than talking about the Orioles’ woes, isn’t it? You seem to have some weird obsession with disassociating from the Sox suckiness by bashing other teams (that are better) and former Sox players like Cease. It’s your MO. None of this makes the Sox any better. Yep, they are still terrible.
  16. Eloy likely to be back on the IL soon, so Colas may get another chance to sit in the bench. Eloy is pathetic. Mr. Glass.
  17. Like I said, I hope some reporter asks the question — was Eloy still injured and Grifol played him anyways or did he reinjure himself running out of the box? He made a slow jog to first base on what should have been a double.
  18. It was hard to tell if he was still injured or if he reinjured himself running out of the box.
  19. Brought up in a Sox game thread for some reason? I also said Elias will likely swing a trade for a starter or two, just like he got Burnes at a bargain.
  20. When your team is the worst in baseball and looking like one of the worst in 162 game season history, look to bash a much better team? Sound strategy…
