Agreed. This is exactly why I think it he was traded twice. Teams didn’t view him as that untouchable potential ace due to his lack of a fastball. He can obviously still be a very good starter though.

I likely feel the same way as you about Ellis. However, it doesn’t make sense to dump younger players to retain horrible old vets with expiring contracts in a losing season. And this isn’t the first time Getz has dumped a younger player to retain garbage.
