  1. I never bought it. This is JR we are talking about. He’s a penny pincher. He let Hahn and Kenny run the trade deadline last year and then fired them in late August. He used them as the fall guys for last year’s horrible season and he will do the same with Grifol at the end of this season. He wants to make a big deal of firing Grifol at the end of the season to take the heat off of him and Getz. He actually thinks that Sox fans are this stupid to fall for this crap.
  2. Gotta love how Moncada stayed worthless to the end. Couldn’t even stay healthy or get healthy by the trade deadline so the Sox could get a minor league scrub for him or at least dump some of his salary like with Eloy. Fucking bum…
  3. The most hilarious thing about Pham is that he played 38 games in RF and 30 games in CF for the Sox. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have started Pham at DH and now LF tonight. The Sox literally have not cared about outfield defense for decades. It’s embarrassing.
  4. They actually sent Heston Kjerstad and his .790 OPS down to get Eloy on the roster. Apparently, the Orioles don’t realize that Eloy’s career OPS is .790 and he hasn’t put up an OPS higher than that since 2022.
  5. So they got out of some of Eloy’s remaining salary for this year and also his $3 million dollar buyout? This trade, the Tanner Banks trade, and the Robbie Grossman trade are Getz’s only unquestionably good trades.
  6. They are going to set the record for worst record THIS season. The only question will be if it is just modern baseball or all-time.
  7. Keaschall is three years younger than Vargas and also would have had a sixth year of control, not just five like Vargas. The Sox probably still could have gotten those two prospects from the Dodgers for Kopech in a direct trade with them. Getz is insane if he thinks adding Vargas was important for the present when the Sox have no one ready at so many other positions. Keaschall would have made much more sense since the Sox are still waiting for other guys to be ready like Montgomery and Quero, and perhaps Ramos.
  8. His bat has been crazy good so far and he steals bases. And he was a 2nd round pick so the talent was expected. https://www.milb.com/player/luke-keaschall-807712
  9. It was mentioned by another reporter, and prior to the deadline. Not just this Twitter account.
  10. The original talk everyone here agreed on was that he was worth a backend MLB top 100 and a lesser prospect. Even if the Twins weren’t offering a second lesser prospect with Keaschall, I would have been much happier with this offer.
  11. If this Luke Keaschall offer is true, we have the worst and dumbest GM in baseball.
  12. So Getz passed on the Twins #5 prospect and MLB’s #92 prospect Luke Keaschall, who is likely moving up the charts with the way he is hitting. He can also play 2B and CF, while Vargas can’t play any position and is 3 years older than Keaschall. Getz passed on this kid for Vargas because he didn’t want Fedde in the division for next season when the Sox will be terrible yet again? Taking away Keaschall from the Twins long-term and giving them Fedde for one season would have been a great trade-off. Good god, Getz is fucking horrible.
  13. Agreed. If he gets more than a minor injury between now and the end of the season, you aren’t getting anything for him.
  14. “MLB trade deadline winners and losers: What were White Sox doing?”
  15. The majority of that WAR for Moncada was earned years ago. In the last 3 seasons, he has been worth a total of 2.2 fWAR. That’s because he hits the IR with a mosquito bite these days.
  16. I could see him getting a heavily incentivized contract based on games played.
  17. That’s okay, Vargas is 0 for 8 but he’s ready to breakout.
  18. There’s messy eaters, there’s Jason Benetti and then there’s John Schriffen.
  19. The Sox need to hope both Crochet and Robert finish the season strong and healthy and try to get 3-4 legit bats in return for them in the offseason.
  20. Between Jerry’s lack of desire to spend a lot of money on starting pitchers and Crochet somewhat burning a bridge with Getz and the Sox by opening his mouth, I think it’s almost certain the Sox are going to trade him in the offseason.
  21. Agreed, except if the rumor of the Sox insisting on including Benintendi in any Crochet trade was true. No team probably wanted Crochet unless he came almost free.
  22. A guy who was automatically and undeservedly promoted to GM of this team by a terrible owner is the worst GM in baseball. Go figure.
  23. Pedro, you definitely won’t have a career in baseball for much longer... But you also don’t have a career as a motivational speaker in your future either.
  24. Remember when some thought he would be back in time to play and be traded before the deadline? ?
  25. Oh wow, I didn’t realize they already beat the franchise’a longest consecutive losing streak over two seasons. Next milestones… “In the modern era of MLB, from 1900 on the 1961 Philadelphia Phillies hold the National League record with 23 straight losses.” “The 1889 Louisville Colonels hold the record for the longest losing streak in MLB history with 26 consecutive losses.”
