  1. Someone needs to photoshop @Quin’s meme to be Grifol saying “we kicked our own ass today.”
  2. Screaming “Southside Standup” as he busted.
  3. We have been saying it all season. Getz is the worst 40-man roster manager of all time. Why and how does a guy who used to be a director of player development think that awful vets on one year expiring contracts in an epically horrible losing season are worth more to retain until the end of the season only than any young players for potentially 6+ years?
  4. Greg, of all the impending free agent players that the Sox cheaped out on extending/re-signing, Abreu is the absolutely worst example for you to complain about. Look at Abreu’s stats in his last season as a White Sox in 2022 (.824 OPS), his first season as an Astros player in 2023 (.680 OPS), and this year when the Astros cut him loose (.362 OPS). The Sox dumped Abreu at the absolutely perfect time. The dude was done after 2022, likely because he is 40 rather than 37 years of age. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/a/abreujo02.shtml
  5. That would be funny to see but why would a team give up a nutload for a player that is currently mediocre as f*** and is constantly injured? This isn’t like selling an Arenado or Soto in their prime. Robert is in his prime years but he’s hitting like Leury Garcia and he’s more fragile than Mr. Glass. The best time to move him would’ve been last year, but the Sox are always a day late and a dollar short. For the sake of comparison, just look at what happened when the Sox decided to trade Cease after a mediocre 2023 season instead of his amazing 2022 season. The highest value they received back in the package was one top 100 prospect — #85 Drew Thorpe.
  6. This nothing move still shows how awful Getz is as a GM. Getz thought it was vital to keep 29 year old catcher Chuckie Robinson, who may never even play for the Sox this year, yet how many of his own acquisitions, young players/prospects has he DFA to make room for more awful veterans on the 40-man roster? God forbid Maldonado actually gets injured, the Sox could pick up any random catcher that is on the waiver wire like a Seby Zavala or Omar Narvaez. The Cubs picked up Tomas Nido and DFA Yan Gomes just this week. There are always crappy catchers available. Getz literally sh1ts himself when he thinks he will be short a garbage veteran and makes stupid related 40-man roster moves getting rid of much younger players to ensure a roster spot for a crappy veteran. Bailey Horn, pitching well in the Red Sox minors now. What a surprise! What exactly does Getz know about scouting and development? He’s a failure.
  7. Like Pillar once he signed with the Angels, watch Hill excel now.
  8. Isn’t this the guy that was almost busted for getting with an underage girl?
  9. This team sure is consistent. Consistently terrible.
  10. Man, playing .490 baseball is tougher than it sounds…
  11. Yeah, should’ve frozen his head in a cryogenic chamber like Ted Williams.
  12. Kopech sure is good out of the bullpen when the pressure is off.
  13. Yeah, you knew his hot streak was coming to an end. I’m not surprised no 1B/DH-needy teams jumped to trade for him early. The back of his baseball card says he’s bad, and regression is bringing him right back to where he usually is.
  14. Didn’t matter much. Anderson is even worse than the umps.
  15. LOL, in a close game, who wouldn’t want a Justin Anderson pitching for you?
  16. Anyone else just hear a fan yell out, “PEDRO, YOU’RE A BUM!!!” ?
