QUOTE (captain54 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) Quit crying about how the Sox have no money to operate while all the others teams do. They have no one to blame but themselves. One franchise debilitating move after another over the years has taken its toll on the organization. The organization is in a huge market with a large fan base in a wide geographic area. Operate like a MLB franchise instead of a company softball team, and good things may come their way Your harping on the Sox having no money to operate properly makes as much sense as the American car makers, decades back blaming the Japanese for stealing a huge share of the market, by being able to produce a quality product for the same money. The way it works in American enterprise, is.. you offer a product to the consumer, and if you get no takers, you figure out a way to turn the tide and make the product more attractive to the consumer. In other words, assume some responsibility and accountability. It's not that hard to understand. It doesn't get anymore basic than that Well said.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 04:18 PM) The more I read Nightengale's story, the more I think Ventura is NOT coming back. Focus on the two key phrases: he can "return if he wants" and "the White Sox refuse to blame Ventura for the losing records". I mean, what better way for Mr. Loyalty Program Owner to set the stage for a graceful exit of one his prized pups than this. Allowing Ventura to leave on his own terms without the shame of being fired, AND publicy declaring the team doesn't hold him accountable for the past five years of futility. Robin will sail off quietly into the sunset, and then that will be that. That was my initial thought, but you never know what JR is actually up to.

Who Will Be The Next Manager of the White Sox
Hatchetman replied to Y2Jimmy0's topic in Pale Hose Talk
C'mon man. you know JR does not hire experienced managers. They may have ideas of their own. That is not going to happen. -
The problem is simple: it's home runs and .OPS
Hatchetman replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
we don't score any damn runs. almost at the bottom of the league. OPS is just below average though (??) -
in the 48 games since he's been a starter his OPS is .762

when are they going to rebuild McCuddy's like Big Jim promised?

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 17, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) What? Your comment makes no sense as a response to my comment lol you make it sound like I want to replace him when I do not. I'm saying it isn't a problem for him to be depth on our bench. Depth is important. Something we should know after the season we've had. Right now he is a starter. Who will be replacing him so he can be "depth on our bench?"

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 17, 2016 -> 03:42 PM) Guys...there's nothing wrong with him in a backup role. I'm all for finding someone better. Who did you have in mind?
-
Because he's only 26 and has more range than a fence post.
-
OK. I stand corrected. WHIP is 1.55 in his last 11 games.
-
Rollins had the job the second he signed. He was going to start unless he died on the field in Arizona.
-
Robertson's WHIP must be approaching 2 in his last 7-8 appearances!
-
Jimmy Rollins hit .220 last year and would be 37 years old! Who cares what he hit in spring training??!!
-
Agree Eaton needs to stay in RF. He's kind of a butcher in CF for whatever reason.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) And for the record, after last night Tyler Saladino has an OPS+ of 102 on the season. That is without including his plus defense on the season. Accorinding to Fangraphs he has put up about 1.2 WAR and about $9.7 million in value when he has played somewhere close to half a seasons worth of baseball. Going by baseball reference, he is at 1.8 war. Amazing what you can find by letting young guys play.
-
This team is SO MUCH more fun to watch than any I have seen in many years. Except for when James Shields starts or David Robertson comes into the game. So nice we don't see much Shuck anymore either. But other than that, there are some talented guys who give a good effort and don't quit. NICE!
-
trivia: Saladino stole 33 out of 37 in 2015 combined AAA/Majors.
-
Didn't they retire Baines' number the same damn year or something? He was Mr. White Sox.
-
I'd be on board with that plan if everything fell into place.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) It really isn't Sale alone per se, it is what trading him represents. yeah, it represents that you had yet another crappy year with little prospect of things improving.

Interesting read. Who's this George Castle guy? Sounds like another Bad Fan.
