  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) Bottom line, I really don't think this deal was a very good use of resources. ..................and we could clearly always move Frazier or Lawrie, etc, if need be). I am in total agreement with everything you wrote.
  2. All of a sudden $27 million is nothing. How much were we short on Alex Gordon, Dexter Fowler, and others?
  3. now that I'm at work I have time to screw around with this. this year 126 times have there been men on 1st and 2nd no out #3 hitter up, game within one run. there has been one bunt attempt.
  4. Well a bad team that never gets on base and is usually losing is not going to be in bunt situations very often either.
  5. So KW deserves the job for life? Because of what happened back in 2005?
  6. Coats' BABIP is .390 this year. Think that's going to hold up?
  7. Saladino just had one of the best games by anyone on the team this year. He deserves to start the next day. Simple as that.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 31, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) How do you not at least have Saladino playing 2B tmrw? He never plays second. Who knows why?
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 31, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) Tyler Saladino. That is all. That was a hell of a game!
  10. so essentially the Sox' winning odds were unchanged AFTER Melky's successful bunt. lot of upside in that call.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 31, 2016 -> 01:07 PM) Here is the win expectancy graph from yesterday: http://www.fangraphs.com/wins.aspx?date=20...amp;season=2016 It was claimed that the Sox win expectancy went down 0.8% after the Melky bunt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me it looks like it actually went up 0.8%. Since the Mets won, the numbers show their WE and it appears to go from 34.8% to 34% after the bunt. Then up to 48.1 after the Frazier out and 58% after Shuck ended the inning. That's not exactly what we're after though. That tells us the odds given what has already happened. Melky' sac was successful. What if it wasn't? What is chance of that -- 20%?
  12. The worst part of it all, if the Sox move, the fans will be blamed and not the idiot who ran the team into oblivion.
  13. Lamont, Bevington, Manuel, Ventura...who's the next scapegoat?
  14. our two A ball teams are a combined 36-61. I feel like crying.
  15. Here's a pretty good Q&A with him. Doesn't sound like any big changes in philosophy or scouting personnel. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...nick-hostetler/
  16. Am I right, he was promoting to scouting director last fall? Should we expect any major changes in philosophy? Did they hire any new scouts? I don't watch the minors like I used to, but at least superficially I don't see a whole lot of talent down there.

  18. He's a bad luck idol like Bobby found in the Brady Bunch. He needs to be sent away ASAP.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Give Harper some juice, and we will talk. More??
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) The Sox win again, so naturally we are talking about Avi. yeah, because this team has the potential to make the playoffs and even make some noise there. But the simplest of all positions to fill, DH, we got bupkis. wins in april count just the same as september. make hay while the sun is shining or whatever the hell that saying is. GET SOMEBODY!
  21. Sox desperately need an OF'er with playoffs well in sight. Should be a no-brainer.
  22. never heard of him so listened to one of his songs....something about b****es. nice.
