  1. I think the A to AA jump is the biggest test and he handled it well. His status should rise.
  2. By all means if the Sox are great at signing free agents, sign more! The path to success is assured!
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) Hahn was the GM that re-signed Sale, Q, and Eaton. Hahn has been the contract negotiator for the last 10 years though. OK then. let's have a return to good contract signings.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:46 AM) That's not s*** in the grand scheme of the game though. Some teams have $100 million mistakes. That's more than the largest Sox contract ever. We are not talking about big market clubs. we're talking white sox.
  5. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:49 AM) Well and the phenomal deals that Sale and Quintana are signed to. He's a magician for those. Eaton's contract is a bargain too. I was only counting deals when Hahn was "officially" the GM, whatever that means. who knows who is responsible for anything.
  6. He's gotten a pass due to Abreu, but that is not a lifetime pass, I hope.
  7. $46 for Cabrera, $25 for Laroche, $15 for Duke...starts to add up.
  8. That was just a terrible signing in the first place. $25 mil down the toilet.
  9. LaRoche is done. Garbage. He'll be 36 years old. This is the list of players in 2015, 35 or older who posted above average offensive numbers. Name wRC+ David Ortiz 138 Alex Rodriguez 129 Carlos Beltran 119 A.J. Pierzynski 112 Adrian Beltre 108 Juan Uribe 104
  10. It's always jury-rigged with these guys. Can't do anything properly, ie develop their own players. Gotta buy somebody else's castoffs and act surprised when things don't work right. The roster is like a '73 Pinto with a $1000 set of tires. BUT CHECK OUT THE MICHELIN TIRES!! FUZZY DICE!!
  11. You think JR would prefer a late first-round pick, or $20million+ ?? I think I know the answer to that.
  12. I sorted all qualifying MLB'ers by BB/K. Lawrie was 4th worst. I think he is the exact opposite of what this team needs.
  13. Sale is younger and has a better contract than Santana. Similar performance. Trade did not work at all for MIN. Supports the case for NOT trading Sale.
  14. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:54 PM) He's was a 74th best prospect in all of baseball in 2013 Mike Olt was the 22nd best prospect in all of baseball in 2013.
  15. If you can't handle personal attacks and having your opinions ridiculed, maybe the internet isn't the place for you.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 02:50 PM) Chris Sale faced 854 batters last year. Jose Abreu had 668 plate appearances last year. Amazingly they also had the same BB/K ratio... a joke ha ha
  17. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:01 PM) Going to need another starter after we trade Q right? This, unfortunately.
  18. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 06:54 PM) Olt? Really? I said I'm totally giving up on 3B. maybe he could hit .220 and 20 with decent defense. not that far off Lawrie really.
  19. 3B is the toughest to fill. I'd punt on it. Maybe a platoon with Olt or this Korean guy....We need 6 new position players, something has to give.
  20. everybody's got an appropriate value to them. CarGo is better than Avi, I will admit that. Depends what they'd have to give. I like Upton and patchwork the rest. I don't want to trade Quintana or Anderson.
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 06:36 PM) I've looked up the stats. well I dunno what stats you use, try these: http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?p...OF&season=0
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 06:32 PM) CarGo can hit outside of Coors. and you believe this why?
  23. I voted for the Korean name, but is that the right guy?
  24. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 12:16 PM) I don't think it was a minor league deal. I dunno. I got that from the resident know-it-all at SSS.
  25. Not interested. Old, hurt, and not that amazing to begin with.
