  1. maybe we can get them to toss in chavez too.
  2. yes. this organization has always been very inbred. that's a problem when you're not that good to begin with.
  3. glad we can put that bad idea to rest.
  4. a big statue of JR that we can tear down.
  5. i'd love to see borchard and escobar get 500 AB's. history would be made.
  6. not sure how anyone in their right mind could project escobar to hit 24 homers. maybe in AAA.
  7. The sox haven't had an outstanding defensive 1B in 25 years. I'd love to see it.
  8. my bad, i read the 1.6 for menechino.
  9. raise a lot of questions in my mind. i've studied the methodology and it made plenty of sense, but there sure are some odd numbers. for instance, jeter was horrible last year but near the top this year. jeff kent leading the league at 2B? anyway, the sox don't fare too well. harris is particularly bad... http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/wsalpos/
  10. i'm all for it, but you're not gonna get him for gload and munoz. at least i don't think you would.
  11. look, timo is the worst player in the majors, so i agree. that doesn't mean kapler should be considered a starter with us. there's only one superjew and that's mike epstein. i'm sure he could still hit better than kapler.
  12. have you bothered to look at his stats?
  13. yeah, it's about time we start acquiring twins rejects.
  14. Yeah, he doesn't seem too bright. Even if KW bumps payroll up $10 mil, you can't do much with that...maybe add a vizquel and a couple of bit players. Significant changes will necessitate Lee or Konerko being traded.
  15. i dunno, maybe he states the obvious, but that's better than the asslicking we get to hear.
  16. RE: vizquel The SCORE is reporting the sox are interested and so is he. would you rather have vizquel at SS and uribe at 2B or uribe at SS and somebody else at 2B (polanco?) seems like every year we add more old guys.
  17. 2+2= sox have to deal either lee or konerko to make any kind of roster changes. Amazing how little $65 mil gets you nowadays...
  18. it doesn't matter how much of the team he owns, the structure is set up so that he calls the shots. that's how he set it up when he led up the group that bought the team.
  19. second half of 2002 and the first half of 2003 he hit 12 homers combined. OPS of about .650
  20. I'm sure a few of us would do a better job than KW.
  21. I think prices should be tripled. Season ticket holders obviously have no shortage of cash and the white sox need the money.
  22. I don't see why the D-Backs would trade him for someone with only 1-2 years left before free agency. They're trying to rebuild. I would imagine they'd be looking for young, cheap, good guys that will be around for at least 3-4 years. A guy like Rowand I would guess.
  23. Evidence of our lack of difference makers: Top win shares for Sox CLee # 17 in AL.
  24. $16 mil is a whole lotta change. you couldn't give up that much and pay his whole salary.
