That has to be a typo of some sort.

SO THIS FUCKING BUM DIDN'T TALK TO CROCHETS CAMP AND HAD NO IDEA HE WAS GOING TO BALK AT PITCHING WITHOUT AN EXTENSION?
YOU HAD ONE FUCKING JOB YOU FUCKING IDIOT. GET RID OF THIS ASSCLOWN.
Wait. Isn't Getz mad because he thought they had very open communication about everything with his agent even until the night before the story dropped that he wouldn't pitch without an extension? Why would he have an idea if that information was being withheld from him?

The Sox had to add at least one legit offensive piece for Fedde. They have 7 lineup spots to fill, and that’s if you think Montgomery and Quero are the real deal. Instead, Getz packaged him with Kopech and Pham and still didn’t even get back a single legit offensive piece.
I mean Vargas has just as much of a chance to be a legit offensive piece as anyone else they would have gotten probably. And no, I'm not defending the trade.

Good. He's looked awful lately, and lord knows Getz isn't the one to maximize trade value.
I think it would be hard for anyone to maximize his trade value right now. Dude needs to get right the rest of the season. Looks awful.

I don't understand why the Dodgers would be okay with this, either. This does not add up at all.

Did the Cardinals just not give up anything but Edman? How is that possible?

Also has a nice mustache.

That seems like a reasonable framework of a deal. It would have been nice to pull one more lower level lottery ticket kind of guy, but that isn't awful. And honestly, if it is the leading deal at this point, you probably take it.
They can even have Tanner Banks thrown in and I'll take a lower guy.

Dodgers just traded someone for cash considerations. Gearing up for Tendi!

Jordan Walker would be a hilarious return for an organization that has no clue how to develop or fix hitters.
They have to start at some point so may as well start with someone with huge upside. They should probably be going for much higher ceilings instead of higher floors if they want to dig themselves out of this.

Chris Flexen is absolute garbage. Funny to me people thing any team would trade for him
Yeah I don't even consider him a candidate. Just let him eat 5 innings (good or bad) every 5 days to get you through this misery.

Fedde does ultimately seem like a Cardinals pitcher.

I am not criticizing the Sox, I am saying the Dodgers are good at scouting and self-scouting. They do not lose a lot of trades. Notice how they are not the ones giving up Trea Turner, or CJ Abrams, or James Wood. They give up Keibert Ruiz and Verdugo.
They did give up Yordan Alvarez to the Astros which was a huge misstep, but overall yeah they don't trade away too much. Most of their position players are free agent signings, too. So not entirely sure at how well they develop position players.

Don’t know if that’s a good thing. MLB pipeline just went through who the Dodgers gave up in deadline deals. Scrubs and second division regulars mostly. Look at the deals last year: Nastrini and Leasure are not trending well. People say “Don’t trade with the Rays.” The Dodgers are the Original Rays.
In the Sox defense, they gave up Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly in that deal.

No kidding. Especially Crochet, from the off season where he pretty much demanded to be a starter to now seeming calling all the shots with his workload management and then finally this contract stuff.
The deadline is tomorrow, there is zero chance all these deals get done by then. This is the cherry on top of the s%*# sundae of the 2024 season.
We don't know what deals are actually "trying" to get done, though. The ones that for sure have to happen is Fedde, Kopech, Brebbia, Pham, Dejong - which the final two are just lotto tickets. You'd be selling low on Robert right now, and who knows what happened with Crochet after this all came out.
I think you can get Fedde, Kopech, Brebbia, Pham and Dejong done in the next 36 hours or whatever it is.

Wonder what else could be involved in that three team trade? Could be a big one.

Much like Michael Kopech, if they aren't willing to listen, isn't much you can do.
Yeah Eloy seems unteachable to me.

Haven’t seen it posted it here, but apparently the Sox have been trying to pry away Jordan Walker in a Fedde trade per Fegan
How much control does he have left? Sporttrac not loading for me.

The fact that no one in the obedient Chicago media is reporting this means nothing.
But don't you think someone nationally would have caught wind of it?

I always assumed Mariners fans would be nicer.

It would not end my fandom, though. And even with Tendi possibly attached I think they would get at least one and a half “guys” back. It would just suck because they should be getting at least 3 good pieces.

What keeps everyone being a fan despite each and every incompetent action from JR & co?
Because my dad didn’t raise a Cubs fan.

Let’s avoid believing this Benintendi insanity for now. It would be suicide for the franchise and as shitty as things are being a White Sox fan I don’t want to start thinking about ending my fandom preemptively.
Yeah I just have a hard time believing it. I think one of the big reporters would have caught wind of it by now.
