What's the trade value on a guy that can get you to the All Star break then needs to be shut down?
How much would you want Getz to give up to add a guy like that?
I mean theoretically his arm should be stronger next year because of this year. He should have more innings next year.

Batting practice…should have worked harder to get Crochet out of the organization at the deadline.
Lingering questions now about durability won’t disappear over the offseason.
Seems like they were working hard to get him out?

True, what a dumbass. He could have been traded to a contender like the Dodgers, and they probably would’ve given him the extension he wanted if he didn’t demand one. Afterall, they gave one to Mr. Glass-Now.
It’s one of the weirdest moves I’ve ever seen a player make. Just dumb. And now it’s gonna bite him in the ass because he will probably be stuck here.

Yep. As soon as he pulled that s%*# at the deadline.

Crochet has really let his pitches per inning climb up it seems. And is a bum this game.

Stone is 77 years old. Most people would have been retired for a decade or more.
I thought I read (I could be making this up) that he felt if he didn't stay active in this way it would go downhill for him.

Sounds like a man ready to hang them up and ride off into the sunset. It would be a welcome change if Gordon Beckham weren't waiting in the wings...
Beckham has gotten dramatically better.

Welp, there goes any inkling that Sizemore is smart about lineup construction, or that he has the autonomy to fill out his own lineup card...
What exactly are you looking for? What in your mind is an optimal lineup with these dorks?

OK he has Nicky Lopez leading off... how soon can we start a Fire Sizemore thread? Oh right, Getz is already doing that.
I bet he is on the staff one way or another next year.

Beckham is going to replace him, who has actually gotten a lot better. Just hope the other side of the booth changes as well.

1. There is no Bannister of hitting. Hitting and pitching are nothing alike.
2. How can you like a draft that just happened? Jaysus. You sound like Jimmy liking a 19 year old with 12 professional at bats.
He has proven nothing on the amateur side. I read earlier the Sox have a good amateur scouting program. What in the world could make anyone possibly think that?
1. There are directors of hitting who use analytics and whatnot to make guys better...?
2. Just an odd take. Drafts in all sports get broken down and analyzed. It's an entire industry.

I would say avoiding triple digit losses next year would be a moral victory. Not a great place to be, but I guess it could feel somewhat okay depending on who is contributing.

First name popped up and I said "ehhh" and then Braden popped up and I've never stopped watching a video quicker.

Do you disagree with all the prospect publications who had Miguel Vargas as a top 50 prospect in baseball?
Haha, it doesn’t always pan out like they predict unfortunately.
I don’t understand why you’ve completely written him off already.

Colas pulled in the 5th...
Sheets and Lopez should be cut tomorrow and Colas and Ramos should be up. Colas in right everyday, Ramos at third.

This could mean trouble for the loss record.
Good. I don’t want them to break it. Nothing would change if they do and I’d rather not have them have that.

Wait until the end of the season. He’s bringing his numbers back up to last year’s.
Are you saying the same thing about Benintendi who hasn’t been bad lately?

We thought the Burger trade was bad.
Not really.

Progress?!?
He is talking about the whole organization and I don't think he is wrong. They are in much better shape AS A WHOLE than they have been. Sucks real bad right now, but hopefully pays off in the next few years.

If only we could figure out who was responsible for the flawed roster...
I mean I agree with him for the most part. I don't think he was trying to put a winning product on the field this year, but they should have not been THIS bad.

For sure. And I bet Sergio moves up to Charlotte.
