If it’s a case where they actively want Walker off the roster, and where Getz could leverage it, it would be a more a question if they could use him. If Getz received an offer he liked, he could say that offer is comparable to others I like, but i’ll pull the trigger if you do this. Its not the greatest fit outside of relatively even salaries, but if they don’t want to play Castellanos every day anymore, maybe he could fit as 4th OFer. Seems like Castellanos reaching that stage

Deferring 680 million of 700m for ten years seems idiotic to me. He could be dead by then for all he knows. And who knows how that would be worth by then. He could be transferring that cash into assets now. Would have been better off taking a front loaded 300 million deal

Doesn’t seem to me that a GM would feel the need to psychologically prep the fan base for trading away their second tier prospects. It would have to be someone fans have pencilled in, in their minds. Anthony, Meyer and Campbell are the only ones that realistically fit that description. IMO of course
