  1. I mean, statistically speaking, no one has ever done worse in league history, so Id think a modicum of competency from the GM and Manager would get a team to at least 60 wins. They are on pace for 30…
  2. Hahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha
  3. This is what I believe. Getz (and JR) knew that they wouldn’t be competitive, even in this division. But they still didn’t think it would be a historically bad team. Even Vegas had them right around 64.5 wins so at least slightly better than last season. Right now they are one pace for 32-130 so Getz is panicking by signing older and largely washed up guys to try and get to 50+ wins and avoid absolute embarrassment while jettisoning 20 something MiLB guys. A guy like Bailey Horn is never going to be a star, but he’s at least young organizational filler as you start what appears to likely be a 3-4 year rebuild. Jose Rodriguez is the same story. He’s a 23 year old guy at AA that hit .361 in A ball and .264 at AA last season. Is there really any point to have guys like Lopez or DeJong on the team while dumping him for cash except…you don’t want to have the worst MLB record of all time?
  4. He’s compensating…I’ll leave it up to you to decide what for but…I know the answer.
  5. Dude doesn’t even know that it’s doob not “dube.” He’s absolutely some boomer that yells at kids to get off his front lawn right?
  6. I honestly don’t know whether it’s awesome, hilarious, or sad that Chris Getz is posting here under an alter.
  7. For anyone trying to justify what Getz has done…go look at tonight’s lineup. Danny Mendick is legit the best player on there.
  8. Im sorry but this lineup is awesome Lopez hitting .203 Pham hasn’t played in 6 months and isn’t a CF Grossman at .184 Eloy hitting .200 AV hitting .170 and isn’t actually a 1b Beni hitting .165 lackadaisical in LF and noodle arm Mendick…maybe the best player in the lineup? At least hitting .235 and not defensive liability? DeJong only hitting .211 but at least appears to be an MLB professional, 2nd best in lineup. Maldonado hitting .048 ?. Cant frame pitches, throw, or block but like the way he “puts the fingers down.” ? 29 year old starter is a career 5+ ERA and has only been under 6 in 2021 and 2022 TB -240 is a pretty crazy line in Major League Baseball but probably justified. Know where my money is going.
  9. He’s just throwing buckets of s%*# at the wall and hoping that eventually something sticks. There’s zero long term strategy here.
  10. That’s the whole fucking point. He’s a work in progress with at least some mild chance of MLB success. What exactly would you call Martin, Ortega, or Robbie Grossman at this point? What is Paul DeJong? At least Pham and Clevinger might end up being at least near competent MLB players but this roster is largely composed of a bunch of old journeyman that is on pace for the worst record in league history.
  11. It’s not cheating dude. It’s literally the tax code. Smart people are able to take advantage of it. Talk to your local congressman not me.
  12. Not with +32 year old guys that can’t hit and…in a lot of these cases, apparently play defense or run the bases. If you think Getz is doing even a remotely competent job as GM so far, or as Director of Player Development (for what you, yourself termed one of the worst systems in the league), I’ve got some oceanfront property in Montana to sell you.
  13. I mean I guess Pedro doesn’t have a choice but some odd combination of Pham, Ortega, and Beni is the CF option going forward? There might be some marketing strategy here. I have a feeling that it’s going to be so bad that I actually kind of want to watch. It’s akin to the old school carnival freak shows.
  14. Anything other than make them worse? Like are you serious? Anything other than DFA prospects in their mid 20s to bring up below average hitters in their 30s? Anything other than assemble a lineup that is so historically bad offensively that they are forced to play the DH in the outfield 25 games into the season? Anything other than go into opening day with a 4 man starting rotation headlined by a reliever that has never pitched more than 76 innings in a season? Anything other than retain the worst manager in MLB after a 100 loss season? Anything other than trade a Mena for a guy that you send down before May? You mean things like that? Stop being obtuse. It’s currently on pace to be the WORST TEAM EVER ASSEMBLED IN MLB HISTORY!
  15. Dude, you are forgetting, he possesses the absolute and unquestionable most important aspect to being a White Sox employee…he will say yes to Jerry regardless of the circumstances. That’s the qualification.
  16. Wait is he actually in CF tonight? I haven’t seen the line up yet ?
  17. I wonder if Horn will clear waivers…he’s looked like s%*# this season, but he’s mid 20s and looked decent at AA last season. He’s never been this bad before so “flushing it” this early into the season…doesnt seem smart.
  18. It’s not true. Period.
  19. Ok… how about. I’m right and you are wrong. Deal with it?
  20. I know they won’t but a fucking beat reporter needs to press Getz on this. I want to hear him even try to make this make sense. 2024 Charlotte stats: Colas, 25 years old, .246 BA Deloach, 25 years old, .268 BA Ortega, 32 years old, .241 BA Last year for Fletcher at AAA: 25 years old, .291 BA It’s not like Ortega is some defensive stud. This legit makes zero sense. It’s a lost season and the former director of player development, now GM, is calling up a bunch of MLB journeyman in their 30s trying to hang on for one last chance in the show instead of young guys to get a team to 55 wins instead of 50.
  21. We’ll agree to disagree then because…I’m just a small business owner and I guarantee myself and my accountant could easily hit that ratio.
  22. 32 years old. Will be 33 next month. Hit .219 in 47 games last year for the Mets. Hitting .241 in Charlotte. Fangraphs makes it look like he’s okay in the outfield. Wont make any star plays but also doesn’t miss routine s%*#.
  23. I legit said the same thing. I pay decent attention to the minor leagues but I have no idea who the f*** this even is.
  24. This is the most alarming thing about Getz & Pedro IMO. Especially Getz, he apparently doesn’t understand that when you assemble a roster with a bunch of try-hards…the minute it starts to go south, they start pressing, and become even worse. They immediately turn from fringe MLB players to guys that don’t belong on a AAA roster. Pedro’s response seems to be having them work harder in the cage, in the pen, on the field, etc. That’s what I thought was funny when he initially said he wasn’t going to watch the eclipse. Bro, you manage a last place team, you can take 5 minutes to go watch an exceptionally rare occurrence. He should have these dudes in the club popping bottles and going to Top Golf, then tell them to fucking hit a home run every at bat. At least then they’d loosen the f*** up and maybe be able to hit .200. Thats why I can be convinced that Ozzie could take over. At least then, it would borderline be a reality show and mildly entertaining.
