  1. Ok Boomer. Surprised you know what Tweeter is. You should download TikTok. It’ll blow your mind. Probably not available on your Nokia flip phone but have your grandkids show you.
  2. Could help prevent that one win, but the fact that White Sox games effectively end offensively after seven innings and completely disintegrate when leading is a clear indication that this is the worst MLB roster of all time. 0-94 when trailing after 7 and 0-68 after 6 actually might be a more impressively futile stat than 120 losses and that’s saying something.
  3. I’ve gotta imagine the O/U on wins in the last 6 games would be exactly 1.5. And the under would probably be more along the lines of -150 instead of -110 because 1 win is a little more likely than 2. I’d set the line for the Tigers series alone at 0.5. They are a far superior baseball team with something to play for.
  4. It’s actually a pretty decent strategy from a marketing perspective. They’re getting far more positive fan engagement with this tactic instead of the sanitized bullshit posts. Go back read the comments from earlier in the season. Their “normal” posts were purely infuriating about 90% of the fan base. They were getting ratio’d on almost everything. Honestly the recent “gimmick” is probably the most effective thing the franchise has done all season in either business or baseball operations. Which…is why I’m sure it will cease once Jerry hears about what’s happening on on Tweeter.
  5. I’m so praying that now that the record is set, golf season is near, and every player/staff member completely stops even making a minute effort & get swept in both series to finish 90 games under. Obviously the first 156 have been bad but I’m hoping the last 6 are like hilariously horrible. Double digit blowouts every night, little league style errors, guys going to the plate with no intention to swing, shutouts, maybe a no-hitter. Would be awesome.
  6. Wasn’t the bullpen actually supposed to be one of the “priorities” last offseason? I don’t care what “mess” was left from the KW/Hahn era, what constraints he’s operating under because of JR, how much influence TLR has in decisions…Getz, at this point, has assembled the worst MLB roster of all time. He continually makes horribly lopsided trades, puzzling roster management, and clearly can’t evaluate talent.
  7. Know a buddy that interviewed for their social media manager position a few years ago. He said salary range was $28k-$32k and many of the employees in the department were in fact interns. Glassdoor says current league average is $60k.
  8. It’s the same as 2005. Pure luck.
  9. I feel like it’s all gonna start coming out now. The stuff between Herm and the strength coach is interesting and, if still happening, confirms suspicions that the training staff is poorly executed and the reason for all these bullshit soft tissue injuries.
  10. NHL season starts in 3 weeks still no carriage agreement other than DirecTV. Not expected to pursue Dish or YouTubeTV. No app announcement yet either. This is okay…right?
  11. This trade is going to be even more awesome next season when Kopech becomes a serviceable part of the Dodgers rotation. https://www.si.com/mlb/dodgers/news/dodgers-news-standout-reliever-says-he-wants-to-start-again-01j81d16fdea
  12. I really can’t picture a scenario in which Getz, Jerry, TLR, or Boyer make a public appearance or answer any questions from fans. It’ll be a new manager that has no culpability, a bunch of the coaching staff, and players. Guarantee everyone will be given very specific talking points.
  13. I can’t find any recent info but now I’m super interested how the Bulls travel. Obviously the staff and roster isn’t as large but I’m smirking picturing a bunch of NBA players crammed into coach, lol.
  14. I 100% believe that Brooks Boyer has more pull in this franchise than Chris Getz. Jerry probably views it as, the GM and coaching staff cost you money; Brooks and the sales department make you money. If you did a true org chart based on the influence people have, I believe Jerry is at the top with TLR and Brooks underneath him, then every other person is below that.
  15. He’s a billionaire that still is seemingly in decent shape and seems relatively coherent, he could very easily make it to 100. Then it probably takes at least 5 years to rebuild the franchise from top to bottom. We could realistically be two decades away from this team truly being competitive.
  16. I don’t think people understand how insane the travel for an MLB team is. Flying that amount and sleeping in hotels put a lot of stress on an athlete trying to stay in literal elite condition physically and mentally. First class vs. coach seating makes an extreme difference.
  17. I think it’s highly likely that the Sox are so delusional, dysfunctional, and highly incompetent as an organization from top to bottom that they still honestly believe they will receive public funding for a stadium.
  18. f*** Curt Bailey. He can pay for it himself.
  19. Korey Lee arguably has the best arm in baseball as a catcher, has the lowest pop time in the league, and is more than effective defensively. Also…he’s cheap. I’d guess that he and Quero split time next season. Hes been pretty bad at the plate but if the argument is to play Vargas to “see what you’ve got,” they absolutely have to play Korey Lee. A catcher hitting .205 is pretty much inconsequential for a 100 loss team next season so they’ll take the cheap & young options.
  20. Honest question, you think Jerry knows what YouTube TV is? The OTA programming is cool but, let’s be honest it isn’t exactly a revolutionary idea. I bet, if they end up on a streaming service, it’s likely Fubo since they carry almost everything. I think it’s more likely that they try a stand-alone subscription based streaming service but I honestly have zero idea how MLB, NBA, and NHL broadcast rules affect that. Mildly concerning that they are two weeks away from the network launch and haven’t announced any streaming partners.
  21. Vargas is going to start 140 games next season. Calling it now.
  22. I was personally hoping for “we aren’t going to be working heavily in free agency.” -Chris Getz
  23. The team is so bad that I think everyone is forgetting about this complete clown shoes TV network. No one is going to watch. The Cubs can barely pull it off on Marquee and guarantee they are throwing more money at it than Reinsdorf and the Blackhawks will on this new network.
