Don’t forget ReyLo is about to have a 5 WAR season for them. When is the last time a Sox pitcher went to another organization and got markedly worse? Because it seems like quite a few have a pretty significant bump in performance.

Honest question because I’m too lazy to go through the box scores. When is the last time the Sox have scored a run in the 7th, 8th, or 9th innings? It certainly seems like they score a couple early and the bats go silent for the remainder of the game.

You know for a fact the Sox have themselves convinced Sheets is a decent player since he leads the team in BA. The recent “hot streak“ talk is hilarious, he’s a DH with one home run in 2 months. He’s a complete liability in the field, has 8 HR and 39 RBI on the season. A .240 avg and .681 OPS isn’t even remotely acceptable for a guy that can’t play the field. That being said, someone mentioned the broadcast talking about how well Sheets has handled RF this season so…guess who is probably your 2025 starting RF…

Especially not like 6-8 too free agents which is the only real way to make this roster mildly competitive in the short team future. Nothing will happen until Jerry passes and the team is sold. Even then…they better get the right person because they’re going to have to come in and start throwing around money to get a $300m+ payroll. The entire system is so bad that, even a few years from now, that’s likely the only way to try and fix it quickly. They basically need to spend Dodgers type money.

Robert has been bad, but he is the highest non-pitcher on the roster in WAR. That’s how bad of a roster they have constructed. A $20m extension is probably mildly affordable for an everyday CF by 2026 and 2027 even if he’s not great.

It doesn’t even matter if the starting pitchers end up decent. They are scoring 3.1 runs a game and the bullpen is a dumpster fire. Neither look to have an improvement on the horizon. In fact it’s likely even worse if they deal Crochet, Robert and slash payroll even further.

If fucking killing it this season betting against the Sox in the money line. Normally the Martingale strategy is horrible but it’s basically guaranteed with this team. I don’t think they’ve won 3 in a row all season have they? I’ve got a bankroll now to sustain like a 15 game winning streak and we know that’s never happening.

Everyone on the team not named Garrett Crochet sucks. They don’t have a single hitter over a .700 ops. It’s legit a roster of AAAA guys. Even Robert has fallen off a cliff.

It’s not hard to figure out. Robert, nowhere near his potential. Eloy, not even close. Yoan, apparently doesn’t even want to play anymore. Kopech, horribly below expectations. What’s the common variable here? Maybe ask the former Director of Player Development, I hate to say it but Montgomery is going down the same path and it looks like Colas and Sosa are already halfway there…

Nicky Lopez striking out for the 4th time to end the game has the potential to be perfect.
