  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) I can't dude. All this age s*** is bulls***. I'm f***ing tired of it. There are posters younger than me here...cough you cough....but when I give my opinion, I get badgered with "Shut the f*** up you 7 year old." AHHHHHHHHHHH! :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead Too f***ing bad. Most teenagers, especially ones who are 13-17 are dumb as f***ing bricks. We all had to go through it so don't think you're above everyone else in your age demographic.
  2. Kanny won, Cunningham was promoted it seems: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...wvaafx_kanafx_1 Bristol won both ends of a doubleheader: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...elirok_brirok_1 and http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...elirok_brirok_2 Great Falls won: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...ogdrok_grfrok_1
  3. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 06:05 PM) Is the rule 3 years of full-season ball? Depends on age: "Major league teams must protect players on their 40-man rosters within three or four years of their original signing. Those left unprotected are available to other teams as Rule 5 picks. Players who were 18 or younger on June 5 preceding the signing of their first contract must be protected after four minor league seasons. Players 19 and older must be protected after three seasons." There will be a lot of movement on the 40-man just like there is every year. Expect Smith, Walker and Reynoso to be kicked off and players like Young, Haigwood, and possibly Honel put on.
  4. I think the most impressive thing I saw in a LLWS game was yesterday when Russia turned a 6-4-3 DP. They lost 6-2 but they played really, really well.
  5. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) I cant wait for the day where I can say....Hawk....HE GONE! Petition for Alex, Jason and I to just get drunk in the booth and mimic other announcers. Seriously, how can you people stand this tool? He intentionally answers e-mails about his time playing in Fenway or DJ's time in Japan instead of talking about the game. Do I really give a s*** that you batted behind Yaz, Hawk? Does anyone? No one cares about your past with the Red Sox, Athletics or Senators except old farts like yourself. You had one good cumulative year where you probably just hit as many fly balls to the green monster as you could. Your career line was .239 .325 .414, talk about that. Talk about how you were an awful hitter but still had an ego of Georgia. Talk about how you played in the World Series, and then went 1-13. Talk about the game in front of your eyes instead of the the game 30 years ago.

  8. White Sox offense last two games - 2 runs Russian Little League baseball team, 1 game - 2 runs END THE GODDAMN STREAK, f*** NEW YORK!!!!!!
  9. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Don't we have a f***in ralley monkey of our own or something? Jesus Id be willing to try anything..... CWSOX45 RALLY MOJO
  10. If Jason and I's play-by-play was any indication, this is going to be the worst piece of audio in history. Download at your own discretion!
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) Not a loss at all, and IIRC this opens up another scholarship FWIW. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...S0601/508190480 I remember seeing Lucas at the Wright C-Store a lot and he was definitely at a loss upstairs. I'll sadly have to tell my RA buddy that his favorite player left IU As for Dinc, I hope he comes here. Another actual German on campus wouldn't be bad.
  12. Stolen from my Y201 prof's blog: I'm so voting for Josef Stalin now.
  13. Interesting. Hopefully I can see this.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) Apparently this is the quote.. We're going to go down popping up with the guys we have. Fixed.
  15. Well, if I need anything at college I have bus fees paid for. I sincerely doubt I'll be using my car much at all. I'll probably just leave it at home come Thanksgiving.
  16. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) How much of the lead will slip away before they bring up Owens? Can Chris Young at least try and play 3rd?
  17. I just found the cure to my ills: Boots Randolph - Yakety Sax. Nothing makes me smile faster than Yakety Sax.
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) They won't think anything like that. THey'll say, "oh well, we got no hit by an awesome hitter. There was nothing we could do." We suck right now. SUCK SUCK SUCK. That's the organizational approach right down to the broadcast booth. The White Sox offense is never at fault, rather it's always the opposing team's success. Man, I'd love for a bat right now, BUT WHERE WOULD CARL PLAY??? I BEG OF YOU, WHERE WOULD CARL PLAY?
  19. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) 2 runs off Buehlre through 4 innings is hardly s***ty. If LeCroy is the only Twin who hits Buehlre we'll be in good shape. Now, the problem is a key point in winning baseball games is scoring more than your opponent. With Santana on the mound, and our recent offensive woes, might as well be a 6 run lead for Minnesota. Buehrle post All-Star break: 38.2 IP 45 H 8 BB 17 SO 4.42 ERA Pretty mediocre if you ask me.
  20. This offense isn't going to do anything in the playoffs. Disgusting to watch.
  21. Hopefully my full blown mono will be good luck! Took a nap and I'm still tired, yeah.
  22. IU has the chance to be a powerhouse this year, but that's assuming the offense actually moves around and stuff which happens once in a blue moon. With a front line of Marco and DJ and two seven footers coming off the bench, IU is going to own the boards every single game. Vaden needs to really step it up this year, though.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) Defense at SS shouldn't have that kind of affect on a players rating otherwise you'd see J.J. Hardy right there with Hanley Ramirez, considering how most people see Hardy as being the superior defensive SS. Ramirez has him in AVG and by a little in OBP but Hardy has more power seeing how Hanley has about 0 power. First of all, J.J. Hardy isn't a prospect anymore due to the amount of at bats he has currently with the Brewers. Secondly, Hardy isn't in the same league as Ramirez, as Hardy is atrocious with the bat. He's had good seasons in the Cal league and the PCL, which anyone could do. His future is as a utility man while Ramirez is likely to stick at SS even if he doesn't have power.
  24. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) Well that's a big time alarm considering that's the reason they pulled out. If he can't make it at a low academic standard type school, he'd get put on prohibition within the first week. I heard Oklahoma had some harder standards than Illinois from someone on this board. Guess not. I know for a fact though that OU was afraid of his academics and he didn't qualify. There's a reason 99% of IU student's athletes are enrolled in HPER majors: they're simple as hell and ANYONE could pass those classes, especially intro level ones. Hopefully this guy comes to IU because I need good news before I go back to Bloomington other than, "You probably have mono!"
