Copy and pasted that little snippet from another forum. Oh well, no one cares about The Farns anyways. Worst trade deadline ever.
-
Braves pull trigger for relief pitching, getting Farnsworth from the Cubs for Roman Colon and minor leaguer Zach Miner.

Time to play Red Orchestra and come back in two hours.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) According to ESPN Radio 1000's Bruce Levine, the White Sox have traded LHP Ryan Meaux for San Deigo's Geoff Blum. Nothing really lost, so not bad.
-
This trade means that Willie gets to try his big pimpin' routine in Charlotte. Thank f***ing God!

From BP: The White Sox are still after Billy Wagner, sweetening their offer to include embattled third baseman Joe Crede, in addition to Brandon McCarthy and Damaso Marte. Is Wagner the equivalent (or better) of A.J. Burnett? VORP doesn't think so. Wagner comes in at 17.6 while Burnett is five runs better at 22.6. Still, it's not a bad deal, assuming Ed Wade and Kenny Williams are using the trade analyzer in Team Tracker. Yesterday's post, so have at it.

What. Shoppach for Bigie? AND Stern? Wow, Theo's a dumbass.

Voting machines suck, more at 11. I don't know if I should be pissed at the Republicans. If they can get away with it, I don't see why they wouldn't do it. I'm madder at Democrats for just standing around and taking it up the ass. Dems, your Chicago brothers wrote the book on voting fraud and you let faulty crap happen for two straight elections?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) NO!, steroids + Coors = a very good hitter. He has a nice big juicy contract too. Huffenmeister, Overbay. Helton didn't do steroids. And if you're going to say "Look at this year!" as an example, look at this months splits.

I'm typing out the interview now and I noticed some really huge things. Kris had a big change in the tone of his voice when he was talking about being injured. You could really tell how hard it was for Kris not to pitch and be injured. When I started to talk to Kris about being 100% and his last few starts he became a lot more optimistic. I could tell that he was having a lot of fun pitching now and he feels that he's very close to becoming dominating again. I think the main thing to understand is not to write off Kris at all. John Sickels and BA and even us to an extent have all but forgotten about Kris, but I have no doubt in my mind that Kris is going to tear up AA next year. He has a lot of confidence going for him right now, and that's great to see after coming off a very bad injury.
-
Just finished up with talking to Kris. He said a lot of great things and I still don't understand why people think he has a bad personality. He was a great interview and he said he finally feels 100%, which is awesome to hear. I'll type my story up ASAP, guys.
-
Thanks for the questions everyone. I'm calling Kris around 11 AM or noon here for the interview. I'll most likely write it up Saturday at some point.

Apparently Soriano for Cameron and Milledge is done. Stupid move for both teams. Texas doesn't demand Petit, and the Mets will collapse as usual.

Der Untergang (Downfall in English), the film portraying the last days of The Third Reich is due out this Tuesday. I saw the film in Indianapolis and was stunned; an amazing film and you really don't notice that the film is 2 1/2 hours long. If anyone here is a history buff, you should definitely see this movie. It's probably one of the best films of 2004, and the movie that beat it out for the Oscars must have been f***ing phenomenal because this movie is very good. Bruno Ganz as Hitler is downright chilling. To buy: Amazon.com 3deers.com (where I recommend to buy it from)

QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) Here is one @ Rickwood today Awesome picture, Tom. I love the old "Coca-Cola relieves fatigue" sign in the background.

Stolen from SA forums: Except the Sox aren't protesting a call in the game, they're protesting the Royals playing a player who shouldn't have been allowed in the game because he wasn't on the roster according to the lineup cards exchanged at the start of the game. No clue who that is.

I'm almost hoping for Sweeney to hit a bomb for the comedy factor.

I think we should sign some guy who's only AB was a homerun. He'd hit like 600 homeruns in one year!!!!

A Tourist from Scotland Looking For Advice
Cerbaho-WG replied to SouthSidePride05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) I was reading through the forum over at tripadvisor, and a guy from Scotland is visiting Chicago for the first time in August and September and wants to attend his first baseball game. http://chicago-hotels.tripadvisor.com/Show...o_Illinois.html He's asking forumers which game would be best. So far, most posters are suggesting Wrigley Field. Is anyone here registered to that site? In August/Sept. he could be seeing some amazing games if he went to US Cell.. someone could lead him in the right direction. Start telling him the crime rate in Wrigleyville is much higher than in Bridgeport. But if he wants to get drunk and piss on someone's lawn, then tell him to go Wrigley. Also tell him that while Wrigley is historical, pieces of concrete fall down and that it reeks of piss. -
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) Why would you agree to be interviewed by Heads? Hey, I'm interviewing him, not Heads.
-
Alright, assuming Amazon doesn't massively f*** up my order, Kris agreed to an interview on Friday around noonish.
-
lol at the Marlins board liking Marte. I hope they like walks to left-handed batters.

Just wanted to let all the faithful FutureSox readers that I'm currently in the process of obtaining an interview with Kris Honel. I called him up but he wasn't there, so I left a voicemail message. I'll give him a call tomorrow if he doesn't call me back. If all goes well, I'll interview him Friday afternoon and have a story up Saturday sometime. Of course, crazy things can happen so this schedule is very tenative. Once the interview is set in stone, Heads will pin a question thread so you can submit your questions to Kris. This interview will be exactly like my one with Lance Broadway, so please ask relevant and good questions. An example of a bad question would be, "What kind of music do you like?" The article will focus mainly on Kris' rehab and his progress this year. Some good questions would definitely be asking him how he felt in his last two starts, where he pitched very good (especially against a loaded Jacksonville lineup). Here's my last article, just so you can see what to expect, and what questions you should eventually submit: http://www.futuresox.com/modules.php?name=...article&sid=123 I'm also working on an interview with Chris Young, but I'll be spending all my time on Honel for the forseeable future.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) Well, we're working on an interview with Kris. I'll be calling him in a few hours, assuming I can get out of my damn driveway to the post office. Damn storms.

Who is the most underrated player of all time?
Cerbaho-WG replied to White Sox Josh's topic in The Diamond Club
Cal Ripken Jr. He never gets enough credit for his offensive numbers.
