  2. Wait, Lee says he doesn't want to be back on Chicago because he's overshadowed by Frank, Paulie, etc? But he enjoys Milwaukee because he's looked up to? EGO alert, WAKE THE f*** UP NED YOST! Enjoy trying to hit 10 run homers, El Caballo, we don't miss you.
  3. Since someone mentioned my blog, here's the quote: Anne's tactics to bash the White Sox are neither intelligent or comical, as she usually just PMS'es all over keyboard until a long paragraph full of b**** Sox'es are present. While her hatred is mighty impressive, the season long PMS stint must be f***ing hell on her vagina and ovaries. One can only calculate how many small lakes Mrs. Ursu could fill with her menstrual blood.

  9. QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) It will either be IU or Wake Forest for Oden. OSU will be out of the picture due to the new investigation that is about to take place. Conley also will bolt OSU and will try to get Oden to join him at Wake Forest. For IU's sake, I hope that he chooses Wake. If Davis gets Oden that will probably buy him another year or two and we can't have that!!! C'mon man, just try to imagine a frontcourt of Oden, White and Allen (assuming White doesn't bolt for the pros). You basically have three 7 footers, that's very scary.
  10. I believe Oden will be heading to IU then, as some have said earlier. He's a local product and Davis has been scouting him forever. If the Hoosiers actually play well this year (make the dance, get to Sweet 16) I believe it's a given Oden will attend.
  11. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) The Smashing Pumpkins are held in the highest regard in europe and much of the US...Siamese Dream and Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness are considered some of the best albums of the 90s, and some consider them some of the best albums of all time. These people are deaf. As for the full page ad, someone run over Corgan with a bus. I'm sick and tired of his whiny ass.
  12. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) May not have been a 'hotbed', but if he was responsible for even one, wouldn't that be enough? He's 87 years old, meaning that he was born in 1918. And since it's kind of hard to not report a lynching, Byrd would have been a massive 13 years old during those lynchings. You're trying to make a mountain out of a molehill and being utterly ignorant to numerous Republicans who were vehement racists but seem to be beyond criticism in your book.
  13. Time to listen to German music and frag people. Hopefully Ozzie wakes up and the game is in hand by then.
  14. HOLY s***, A 21-YEAR-OLD PITCHER STRUGGLING IN THE MAJORS? THIS HAS TO BE A f***ING JOKE, RIGHT?
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) What's your problem, man? I said McCarthy sucked tonight and he did. Am I lying? It's just my opinion. No, all of your opinions are always on the negative side with no thought put into them. It's quite alright to be cynical as long as you're making your synapses fire every now and then. Your profile says McCarthy is your favorite prospect, so I'd suggest changing it now you've written him off. You're so fairweather it makes a lot of posters here sick.
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) It's the f***ing Mike Sweeney-less Royals. GMAFB. I forgot that Mike Sweeney was 100-100 the last dozen or so games with Bell as the manager. Can you make an intelligent post without defecating all over yourself and other players? This guy is 21 years old for f***s sake, God forbid he gets a little slack cut for him. Just shut the f*** up already and stop f**ging up every thread you post in.
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) If 6 ER in 4.2 IP against the Royals is the best he can do, I have no hope for him. :puke Yeah, McCarthy should be throwing up 7 IP 3 H 0 ER 10 SO every time against a team that is hitting .300 with their new manager. Do you ever get tired of being an absolute moron most of the times? God, three starts in the bigs and you're ready to s*** all over him.
  18. lol at Sweeney going to help the team this year. Maybe the organization should let him try and stop being so ungodly overrated before we have another wt dream about Sweeney in the bigs. Gotta love the SLG% the last two years.
  19. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) knives out was a tribute to Johnny Marr...its not the complete sound, its the guitar riffs...which are similar... and travis' sound sounds a heck of a lot like radiohead to me, more OKC in some parts, but the way the mood of it sounds all too familiar and the way one guitar has a main riff while the other presents an atmosphere...i still like travis...but i'm not gonna say they don't sound like radiohead...and coldplay Absolutely sounds like radiohead. listen to high and dry and tell me it doesn't sound (well, i know it will sound superior) a lot like anything on parachutes, rush of blood, or X and Y... Radiohead has never sounded like the Smiths, nor has Coldplay ever sounded like Radiohead with the exception of Lurgee and Yellow. People who start saying such and such band is just copying a band are complete fanboys and need to learn that being influenced by a band doesn't mean you are copying them.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 09:32 AM) If you look around in most of draft threads you'll find lots of good stuff, but here's some things off the top of my head; Broadway - B-Mac clone, great curveball, good change Brooks - Rated as a 2nd rounder, was previously drafted by us, RHP. Getz - Michigan 2nd baseman, scrappy guy with good speed. Rote - Good stuff but a little wild IIRC. Cunnigham - Flat out raked in his league, good signing, he's an OF. Cortes - Was committing to San Diego State, RHP. Richard - Former Football QB, bullpen guy, lefty. Broadway isn't a McCarthy clone, as his change really isn't as plus as his curve. Brooks was not projected to be a 2nd rounder, probably more along the lines of a 5th round pick. With Getz I keep reading Craig Counsell esque. Rote is a power reliever who hasn't harnessed his mid 90s fastball and his power slider. A project pick.

    Summer Concerts

Going to see the Intonation Music Festival at Union Park, probably only for the first day so I can see Tortoise. Xiu Xiu and The Decemberists are mighty tempting, but I'll pass. Also going to see Sigur Ros in September for the second time. Can't wait.
