  1. If we get Iguchi, I don't even think my new anti-anxiety pills will keep me from going absolutely apes***.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) That isn't what killed the deal. Green and AZ couldn't agree on a contract extension. I know that. I'm saying that the Dodgers will be trading for a young catcher anyways, regardless if Green stays or goes in LA.
  3. I remember reading that a deal with Arizona was agreed upon even if the RJ trade didn't go through, meaning that the Dodgers would trade for Koyie Hill or Snyder.
  4. I demand the obligatory "You Got Served" photoshop. I also want to be thrown in it, too, I don't care how.
  5. IU literally does not have enough money to buy out Davis' contract and then hire a prestigious coach. Gotta love Bracey sucking it up again...
  6. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) Brian Taylor had alot of potential as well...that got the Yankees Far. Brien Taylor never made it to the big leagues, bad example.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 9, 2004 -> 05:10 AM) 4 quality pitches including a splitter. Could become a very good pitcher if he can learn to use his stuff better. Um, no. His splitter is still miles away from where it's a "quality" pitch and his changeup needs refinement. He has a solid fastball-slider combination going right now, but he's definitely a project on the mound. Kirk Champion seemed to like him a lot when Jason, Mario, Ian and I ran into him.
  8. You've missed some guys. I know just by looking at the Venezuelan league that Amador and Meaux are playing.
  9. Back up the f***ing truck. Are you freebasing crack?
  10. Aboz just IMed me saying that once he logs in, it just takes him to a blank screen and cannot post whatsoever.
  11. QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) <!--QuoteBegin-Cerbaho-WG+Jan 1, 2005 -> 04:26 PM--> QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) <!--QuoteEBegin--> 5) Interpol - Antics Quite possibly the most mind numbingly boring band to come out of this "Post alternative disco, we're still stuck in the 1980's, try to sound like were from England, but were really from sububan detroit" genre of music that is for whatever reason so popular now. That singers voice is like nails on a chalkboard. He doesn't even sound like he's interested in singing his own songs... And we have someone who's completely ignorant outside of one genre. Kessler doesn't have to scream to get the vocals across, and my main gripe with Turn On The Bright Lights was that, outside songs like PDA and Leif Erikson, he was too monotone. He certainly improved in this aspect on Antics, and I find it a good, not even close to spectacular album. I find it funny that again you're too ignorant to realize who Interpol's main musical influences are (see Joy Division) and so what if those bands were predominately British? Interpol isn't carbon copying anyone, and to say they're "trying" to be British is completely absurd. And that genre you can't put a name on, it's called Indie Rock. That said, I believe Anal c*** has a song that sums up The Dillinger Escape Plan fairly well. "You think you're so f***ing original Gay bars used to be original too" Seth never fails to humor me.
  12. QUOTE (winodj @ Dec 13, 2004 -> 02:17 PM) Wow. A Neubauten fan. And one who actually listens to the noisemusic? Or do you just buy the CDs and say how much you love them. I own ONE Neubauten album. It's enough. Although I do love 1/2 Mensch. What exactly is Magyar Posse sounding like? Bumping for response: I do enjoy Neubauten because of the noise that they make with such odd objects. I find Neubauten quite listenable and love "Haus der Lüge" among other songs. Blixa's almost incoherent rambling is somehow peaceful and when they can produce songs like "Schwindel" you know they can do more than just create a lot of noise, although the noise has many layers in it if you listen hard enough. As for Magyar Posse, they're a very distinct sound in post-rock, but sound like a cleaner and more condensed version of Explosions in the Sky.
  13. Funny considering Absolution was released in 2003, and it's quite difficult to be better than a band which you're obviously basing everything off of. Bellamy has one of the whiniest voices I've ever heard, and anything Muse puts out sounds like The Bends to the nth degree. As for my list, it reads: 1) Magyar Posse - Kings of Time 2) Fly Pan Am - N'ecoutez Pas 3) Mono - Walking cloud and deep red sky, Flag fluttered and sun shined 4) Tortoise - It's All Around You 5) Interpol - Antics
  14. I got sloshed big time. I had about 20 people over at my place last night, and roughly 6 of us just got hammered. One of my friends broke up with his gf prior to the party so he got completely, and I mean Jesus Christ, bombed. Good times.
  15. 3 bottles of champagne 2 bottles of wine Loads of hard alcohol 15 friends... Will be a great New Year's.
  16. I f***ing loved Dibbs, he was hysterical and always seemed to give the Sox love.
  17. That's the equivalent of Garland, Diaz and Hernandez...and $12 million dollars. There is no God!
  18. I'm not arguing that Garland is a better pitcher than Vazquez, I'm arguing that Garland is a subpar pitcher who is getting worse statistically year after year. And to comat this, you throw out statistics that disfavor your point and instead use others. You begin by denoucning statistical averages and then begin to use them to solidify your viewpoint. Just a bit hypocritical. We're talking about a guy here who gives up an OOPS of .783 which is subpar. As stated earlier, his SOs are declining, hits/9 are going up, but at least his walks have clamed down a bit, but 3.15 BB/9 isn't exactly something to hang your hat on. Unless his statistical trends start reversing themselves, he has to be considered a subpar pitcher for who he was hyped to be.
  19. I disagree wholeheartedly. If you study Garland's strikeout rates, walk rates, H/IP, H/( and WHIP, one can see that he is regressing very slowly into mediocrity. Would a move to the NL help him? Of course, but not in such a manner that he would become a Top 20 pitcher.
  20. Welcome aboard and enjoy your stay! Now, for on reason that I can think of, here are a bunch of emoticons: :puke

    Wiederhole!

Stop f***ing trolling over at WSI. I don't give a flying f*** if you find it funny to post gay porn at WSI, but all of semi intelligent people here at SoxTalk know this s*** is going to be thrown back in our faces. Get a f***ing life, my God. A lot of dislike WSI and we keep it at that. A lot of people over there dislike some of us (hey me, lol) but they act civilized when they do so. Let your balls drop and then try to carry on a dilligent conversation with a member of the human race (on the interweb nonetheless). I'm passing on names to the admins, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of you are banned when you wake up. Even though I'm not a global admin or even a forum moderator anymore, a lot of s*** is tolerated here at SoxTalk that doesn't fly at WSI. Going over and posting gay porn, while somewhat funny to the immature teenagers who did such, is verboten here. Consider this your warning, and all of you grow up.
