  1. Pull Crain now. C'mon, Robin, get off your ass and do something.
  2. I don't think Robin understands the concept of the open base.
  3. Beckham pops up is the new Crede pops up. Useless at the plate. Completely useless.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) Who are you going to replace him with right now? Jose Lopez.
  5. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) He needs to be cut. Let go. Nah. He can be traded for some other huge disappointment in the offseason. He does have some value left in him, just not much.
  6. Again, Beckham since the ASB: .176/.239/.278 He needs to be benched. Now.
  7. Hey, it only took three times for Robin to pitch around Butler. Good job!
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) I've heard he is very Patrick Kane-ish when it comes to partying & the nightlife, but at age 22 with his talent, I still don't see it being a terrible contract at all. Although I was surprised that his career OPS+ was only 103, I figured it was higher. That's the point: he's really not that great currently. I was watching the Cubs postgame yesterday and both Hollandsworth and Kaplan compared this contract to Longoria's and McCutchen's. This is ignorant, but not wholly unexpected from them. Longoria's base contract was for $16.5 million dollars. Castro's is above $40 million. Prior to signing his contract, McCutchen had three years where he averaged a WAR of 4.3. Castro has averaged about 2.5 WAR/season and is rewarded with a huge sum of money. Yes, he's 22, but he's shown little improvement in fielding, plate discipline and not being a massive space cadet. The Cubs overpaid for Castro, big time.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) Anyone else worried this is the beginning of the 7-game losing streak that will eventually knock us out? No.
  10. Robin continues to be really, really dense when it comes to the pen.
  11. 400! And LOL at the Sox fan jumping in the fountain for the ball!
  12. Post ASB splits from Beckham: .181/.246/.286 He's been abysmal for three years now.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) Nate Jones is not afraid to give up base runners of late His WHIP since the end of May is over 2 Say it with me everyone, Nate Jones is not good.
  14. 1-0 IN THE FIRST INNING? IMPOSSIBLE TO OVERCOME THIS ENORMOUS DEFICIT.
