  1. QUOTE (moragasoxfan @ Jul 7, 2008 -> 01:05 PM) In the early innings, Poreda was commanding both sides of the plate with his FB and was getting ahead on every hitter with first pitch strikes. That's what he needs to do to set up the off speed pitches. Approximately 25% of his 94 pitches were offspeed pitches; that percentage has been pretty consistent for the past few games. Ground outs/Fly outs was 11-2. In the 7th inning he kind of lost his rhythm. He gave up a leadoff walk (of course, the runner scored). This was probably his overall best pitching performance, even though he didn't get the win. He was equally dominant in his one-hitter vs. Lynchburg, but this one was against a very good hitting Huntsville team. Do you remember any of the velo readings?
  2. While Richard didn't have any strikeouts, it's easy to see why: 16 groundouts on 71 pitches.
  3. Good to see the offense still having a really solid approach. Dye needs to think single here.
  4. 9 out of 10 reach and three opposite field homers. Can someone explain to me why no one has one in their ear right about now?
  5. Richard has been nothing short of sensational this year. Through 6 he's given up one hit while striking out 6 on 65 pitches. With Broadway coming back down to earth, I'd have to say that if Richard keeps up his current pace he deserves the call if a starter goes down. Charlotte wins. Richard's final line: 7 IP 3 H 1 ER 0 BB 7 SO 84 pitches, 61 strikes. 10 ground outs, 4 fly outs.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 07:26 AM) Well, the taxes on a gallon are pretty outrageous already, im sure prices will continue to climb and stay high since everyone is still buying gas. No, they're not. Plus, domestic demand has little to do with the price of gas. If you're looking for a culprit behind high gas prices, the evidence lies with OPEC and increased foreign demand from China, India and Russia.
  7. He's a converted starter who throws in the mid 90s and has an absolutely terrible slider. He also drops down his arm slot ala Contreras.
  8. Kuhn hit over .400 this year and his majoring in engineering. Sounds like a smart kid.
  9. ^^ Damn you! Some dude just got drafted from North Pole HS in Alaska. Sweet.
  10. Holy s*** Carter had an ERA of 8.7 this year.
  11. Upchurch is a pretty good prospect. Rivals rated him as a 4-star prospect and his video shows low 90s velocity with a decent slider. He's definitely projectable. Good pick.
  12. BTW we have drafted no High Schoolers thus far.
  13. 11 - Charles Leesman - LHP - Xavier I've got to do a writeup, someone take over for me.
  14. 10 - Stephen Sauer - RHP - Ariz. St
  15. 9th Round - Ryan Strauss - RHP - FSU Chimpy?
  16. Doesn't seem to be half bad. Johnny Bench award semi-finalist. Good average and plate discipline.
  17. Eight Round selection - Kevin Dubler, C, ISU f***, Marlins took Galloway.
  18. 7th round selection - Jordan Danks
  19. From looking at some box scores it looks like Morel plays some SS as well.
  20. Stats here: https://secure.techxpress.net/gopoly.com/im...eamcume(54).htm Looks mediocre
