QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) Let's not "crown his ass" as the next Frank Thomas just yet. He won't be the next Frank Thomas but he is the best hitting prospect we have had come up since Frank so there is reason to be excited.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) Ok, then aside from Mitchell, who did we draft who has impressed so far? Well Brady Shoemaker has started his professional career with a 28 game hitting streak. I would say that is pretty darn impressive. Bellamy looks really good so far too.

I hate that we keep throwing out these old washed up retreads like Colon and possibly Garcia in the future. Richard to me looks like he could be a solid #3 starter in this league and he is just begun to pitch well. I will be pissed off if I see Colon starting over Richard next time out.

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 09:39 AM) Yeah, even after all the exposure and attention yesterday, the "1st Sox Fan" Obama STILL mispronounced Wise's name in his press conference, calling him "Wice". I highly doubt Charlie Weiss could have made that catch. I laughed when I heard Obama pronounce it that way.

I think I would much rather see Torres start that DH than Colon. I just don't feel comfortable with Colon out there at all.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:00 PM) He was auditioning for the Cards... Buerhle for Pujols.

Does anybody know why he was mysteriously placed on the 7 day DL. I would hate to see him injured before his professional career even starts. Anybody have any info?

I think we will see Tony Pena for the first time today. -
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 28, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) I've heard it pronounced as "fag-lee" a couple of time. Its pronounced fayg-lee.

Nice start for my fellow hoosier. Keep it up Josh!

After watching him in the CWS I really really like this pick. I can definitely see the Carl Crawford comparisons. The kid can flat out fly and I he looks like he has a good bat. I love the passion he shows too.

QUOTE (Special K @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) At the very most, i'd be willing to put together a Quentin/Beckham package for Ankiel, and I'd be willing to pick up whatever is left on their contracts too. But that's it. Quentin/Beckam for Ankiel.Lol. That would be a horrible deal for the sox.

Ozzie need to let Poreda pitch and Linebrink needs to be sent packing. He sucks.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 04:34 PM) Defensively Getz has been mediocre at best. People are forgetting Getz saved a run earlier in the game with that dazzling highlight play up the middle. I think he is just fine at 2b and hes starting to really hit the ball well.

This is why games are not played on paper. They are played on the FIELD. Besides its still December who says were finished this offseason.

If the Sox bring in Bonds Im done as a White Sox fan.

If the Gold Glove actually went to the best defensive player every year Crede would have a couple right now. The GG is a joke. I can bet Kenny Rogers will win it this year again even though he didnt play a full season.

Hes waiting to take Kennys job.

Warren Newson, I still remember the game where he clanged one off the foul pole. It was one of my first games at then Commiskey.

QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:03 PM) Has anyone else noticed that Floyd seems like a little cupcake on his interviews? The guy has great stuff (not sure about his control) but nevertheless he doesn't appear to have a killer instinct- that worries me. On the flipside, I don't think Danks is ready but he seems to have more "guts" for lack of a better word. Isn't that the same thing people said about Garland a few years ago. Not everybody out there acts like Carlos Zambrano.

I was just curious about this guy. Does this guy have any potential or did Texas just throw him in the deal to get rid of him?
