I was just curious about this guy. Does this guy have any potential or did Texas just throw him in the deal to get rid of him?

Notice they said "Pending a physical evaluation". How often do they do that for coaches. I think he would have been a top candidate for the Indiana job if he didnt have health problems. He may not last long in the hot Arizona dessert.

2 time coach of the year. Good defense and rebounding coach ( Which were IUs biggest problems with Davis). Heck of a recruiter I believe had a top 10 class coming in. Sampson may be just what the doctor ordered. They may have to go JUCO at least this year if DJ leaves but hopefully he can convince him to stay and get Arthur.

How about bringing Mike Montgomery and Keith Smart to IU. With Smart being the eventual replacement for Montgomery. A darkhorse guy that intrigues me is Darrin Horn from Western Kentucky. He has recruited Indiana and is young and has done a pretty good job rebuilding Western Kentucky.

Im going to agree with greasy that Alford would not be the best choice. Majerus, Calipari, Few, or Pearl are just a few of the many coaches out there who are better choices than Alford. The only reason he gets mentioned is because he is one of the greatest players in IU bball history.

The phils could give us Rowand, Haigwood, and Gio back.
