  1. that would be one hell of a pen. I dont see Foulke coming back here thats for sure, if were in the hunt for a proven closer why not give houston a call and see what the asking price is for Billy Wagner???
  2. What about getting this guy, he's pretty much lights out and a righty lefty combo of Marte and Hawkins would look real good in the pen. SP that are out there for the right price that I would like to see Would be Pettitte or Millwood to take Colons spot in the rotation Ponson wouldnt be bad either but he would be a thrid option for me personally. I figure Hawkins could get anywhere from 3-5m per year and pettitte would most likely get around 9-13m which is what we were trying to give to Colon. If Thomas opts out of the contract we would be able to afford both of these players along with some leftover cash to make a run at a 2B maybe Luis Castillo who would be the ideal leadoff hitter for our team an area I think we have been lacking for sometime now. Just a thought

  4. When I was looking over our beloved Sox this past year the one thing that we never really had was a true slap the ball around leadoff guy. With castillo being a free agent and knowing that were going to have a hole to fill at second I think going after him would be one of the best moves we could make this offseason. I'm not 100% sure about this but I think we lead the league in hitting into double plays which shows that we need to get more speed and put some pressure on the other teams D for a change instead of allowing them to sit back and wait for the double play balll like they did all last year that was the main reason for so many rallies getting killed cause all we have are big slow guys who all try and hit the ball a mile. Having a guy like catillo would make this team atleast 10 wins better dont forget this kid also know how to throw the leather around as well. He would make the offseason a success on his own if he signed with us IMHO.
