  1. If you were a Big 10 fan you'd care. The whole idea of this week is beating the ACC, regardless of who from the Big 10 is playing.
  2. Keady's going to be lucky to go out with 3-4 conference wins this year. Painter was the head recruiter of Landry, who has turned out to be Purdue's only decent player.
  3. It's really great to finally see Drew playing well on Sundays. It'll be interesting to see what the Chargers do with their two QBs at the end of the year. It's also fun to see Nick Hardwick, a rookie from Purdue that I know, get some playing time. He was a walk-on his soph. year and is now playing in NFL.
  4. I remember going there in 1992 when I was 10 and thought that place was awesome. Now it just looks like a dump compared to most other stadiums.
  5. N.C. State Georgia Tech Minnesota Duke Maryland Wake Forest Clemson North Carolina Virginia Tie Breaker: Deron Williams
  6. You're a White Sox fan, you should know not to give up on a team just b/c of a so-so season.
  7. It's a new, separate championship game according to this: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=fo...ov=st&type=lgns
  8. I think the new BCS game will be a championship game on its own, w/o rotating among the other 4. I don't believe there is any plan to give any more automatic bids out. They might even switch the Big East's bid to another conference.
  9. From the Big East's website: So Pitt is 2-1, WV is 1-2, BC is 1-2 and Cuse is 2-1... Pitt is ranked higher in both polls, they get the BCS bid. EDIT: The only thing that could change this would be Pitt losing to USF next weekend and then dropping below Syracuse.
  10. Losing at home to a horrible Mizzou team... wow Anybody think Colorado stands a chance against OU?
  11. hey illini people, does Nick Smith still have his 'mustache' or has he finally given up on growing that thing out?
  12. Their loss puts ISU in the Big 12 title game regardless of what they do tomorrow, right?
  13. no kidding it's the way Purdue's schedule rotation has worked since PSU joined in... no complaints here
  14. I'm not going to give him too much on the injury, but he should have said something earlier than he did, instead of just sticking it out. Some credit in losing the 4 in a row has to be handed to Ben Jones (missing FGs) and Stubblefield (dropping a couple of key passes). I think Tate should have been 1st team for both, but you can't be surprised the media picked the big numbers guy. Looking ahead, Purdue's D only loses Rogers and OSU and UM are off the schedule next year.
  15. Agreed. Hopefully he can bulk up a little. I haven't watched a ton of Iowa this year, but he looks like he could use a few pounds. Speaking of Sophomore QBs, Purdue's Brandon Kirsch got arrested for public intoxication early Sunday morning. For those scoring at home, that's 1 PI, 1 Minor Consumtion and 1 Frat Fight. This is the kid who has been Tiller's highest ranked recruit coming out of HS. The way their Fresh. QB Carpenter has been improving, Kirsch better be on his game come spring practice.
  16. Apparently Jayson Blair is the probable replacement.
  17. http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/school...bigtenteams.pdf No big surprises. Orton takes media QB, Tate is coaches QB. Edwards and Stubblefield are both 1st team WR. Ferentz is Coach of the Year. Edwards is offensive player; James is defensive player.
  18. Purdue accepts Sun Bowl Bid: For the third time in the past four years, Purdue is heading to West Texas to put the "pass" in "El Paso." Sun Bowl media relations director Trent Hilburn confirmed Monday evening that Sun officials have decided to select Purdue to face a yet-to-be-determined opponent (likely from the Pac-10) in El Pason Dec. 31. Kyle Orton will be the rare quarterback to start the same bowl game thrice in his career. In 2001, the Boilermakers lost to Washington State 33-27; in '02, they rallied to beat Washington 34-24. The Sun Bowl has tie-ins to both the Big Ten and Pac-10, but the latter plays all the way up until Dec. 4, allowing for shakeups in the pecking order, should USC or Cal slip up in coming weeks. Speculation surrounding potential Pac-10 opponents has included Arizona State, Oregon State and UCLA. More to come tomorrow...
