  1. Okay, now I'm completely confused. Questions: Which rosters are we officially using? Are we not using the league board that has been already set up? Who's officially in charge? (There seems to be at least 3 people making decisions)
  2. Could someone please pick one place, either here or on the league board to list info? There's conflicting info in both places and I don't think it's fair to set any kind of deadline (especially deadlines that are up in less than 6 hrs) for anything at this point b/c there seems to be way too much confusion. Some people are saying to resign, some say you can't resign yet, some say it's the beginning of the season and we can resign at the end... etc.
  3. Headline News was just talking about how he missed another 'meeting' with the Detroit cops
  4. The NBA is also letting the proper authorities prosecute the fans... i.e. the Detroit cops. Dealing with the players needed to be done quickly, which they did. I'm sure they're working on security measures for the arenas right now. Anyone with any business sense can see why they had to go after the players hard and fast. The NBA knew it would risk losing more and more fans the longer it waited to hand down a verdict or if they went soft on the players.
  5. Who is this 'source' of your's? I'm guessing it'll be UCLA/Purdue in El Paso.
  6. Even if it isn't an BCS, OSU will still be represented well. They have one of the biggest fanbases (many of whom aren't alumni) and have the second most alumni in the U.S. (at last check, behind Texas). The Alamo Bowl has never had OSU and would jump on the opportunity. As for Purdue, they outsold UGA in the Capital One Bowl last year, and UGA was only a few hours away, compared to the 16-17 Purdue was. Since the Joe Tiller era started Purdue has gone to 8 bowl games in a row (counting this year) after a horrid stretch, which makes the alumni/fans come out in full force to away games and bowl games. As much as it would make sense to just assign teams based on their conference records, the Bowl committees get to choose. It's a business for them, so they're going to go with the school that would be the biggest draw. There have been a few times in the last 20 years or so where there could be a strong case against ND going to the bowl games that selected them, but they were picked for obvious business reasons. I like NW and hope that they can start building even stronger programs in football and basketball, but for right now, it shouldn't surprise anyone if they get passed by both the Alamo and Sun Bowls.
  7. Yup, even with Purdue & OSU tied at 4-4 and Purdue beating them, the Alamo Bowl will more than likely take OSU b/c they've never had them before and they have a bigger fan base. Purdue will go to El Paso b/c they travel better than NW. Which means it'll be Nashville, not Detroit for NW.
  8. Yeah, one of the camera angles shows him breaking off from the guys holding him back and jumping at someone.
  9. Regardless, Artest shouldn't have entered the stands.
  10. Ben Wallace started the on court fight. He didn't go into the stands. You could say that if it wasn't for him Artest wouldn't have gone into the stands, but I doubt the league is going to give Artest that benefit.
  11. If that were the case OSU would be the champions this year... and like Spiff said the 12 team rule is NCAA imposed
  12. Not 100% confirmed, but internet reports are saying: Wallace: 5 games Jackson and O'Neal: 20 games Artest: 30 games
  13. Iowa should get Tenn. in Orlando, unless Tenn. can pull the upset in the SEC title game.
  14. I'll take the Angels if they're still available AIM: PurdueShaun
  15. How to make your offense look really good: Play IU 512 yds. Total Offense in the 1st half
  16. No, that was Rick Mahorn, this was the guy on the left side of the screen that nailed Jones right after Jackson jumped into the stands.
  17. So the Purdue/IU game is available only on ESPN.com, which sucks to begin with, but then ESPN was having problems with the feed, leaving people unable to see Purdue's first 14 pts. 21-3 Purdue w/1:25 left in the first Taylor Stubblefield has just become the NCAA's All-Time Reception Leader!
  18. They were in a dangerous environment, but they also should have had the sense not to go into the stands. I think it'll be 10 games or so for both Artest and Jackson and 2-3 for O'Neal. I don't think the NBA should even look at what happened on the court, if a fan was stupid enough to go on the court, especially as this was all going down they deserved what they got. Does anyone know if they've identified the big black guy w/press credentials that sucker punched Jones in the stands?
  19. not surprising, Keady's going to wish he would have taken the job in SanFran ....if i haven't said it before, i cannot wait for him to be gone
  20. this U of I/NW game is a tough pick w/NW at -12.5 last year it was easy money b/c they were only 6-7 pt. favorites and i think i'd take IU at +20 at Purdue, it's more likely to be a 10-12 pt game than it is to be a blowout - Orton's not 100%, yet he's starting and IU will of course get up for the rivalry game
  21. if you haven't seen in it on ESPN yet, check it out at www.starwars.com pretty damn funny
  22. per ESPN Tigers must have given him the best offer since he still had meetings with a couple of teams, including the Cubs today.
