QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) Are the CougarLife banner ads really bringing in a lot of business from the Soxtalk population?? Does anyone know if these are personalized ads? Lol, not trying to put you on blast Jim. I just got an exchange training ad up there and today, a couple hours ago, just visited the exact same company's web site. This has happened before with another company.

He was special. He paved the way for everyone else too, not just african americans.

This should be interesting. Two guys sox fans are not really fond of.

Should the Sox consider Dunn for Soriano?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 10:55 PM) Seriously, with all the SoxTalk "insiders" with their wisecracks, innuendoes and jokes, I share Milkman's concern that only about 50-75% of the site (and, in his case, my posts) is actually intellectually accessible. My favorite is the Ozzie Guillen defender(s). -
Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to striker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I thought Drabek was good? Everyone kept talking about him when dealing with the Jays. -
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 06:40 PM) The Marlins and Cubs have agreed to a trade that will send Carlos Zambrano to Miami for Chris Volstad, reports Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago (Twitter links). The trade is still pending physicals and approval from the commissioner's office according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter links). The Cubs will pay between $15MM and $16MM of Zambrano's $18MM salary. Muahaha!!!!! The Cubs pay 15-16 million to get rid of Z??? And now he's playing for Ozzie? Talk about a win-win for sox fans. I bet Ozzie thinks he just added another ace.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 10:24 PM) Yea, she's BSing you man. If she hated Facebook, why take the time to change that one particular thing? Why not delete her facebook? It's because she doesn't hate it, she just doesn't want to answer questions about it. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems like she's going to make you pry those tickets away. As far as the break thing, definitely sounds like someone else is in the picture. Sorry man. You are handling things right though and you'll be happier for it. Exactly... if it were me, I wouldn't give her a week or two. I'd get them ASAP. She was just giving him the run around, including the ticket thing. A girl like this shouldn't be given any benefit of the doubt.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 06:52 PM) There are superior alternatives, ones that don't fill your computer/network with backdoors/security holes, etc. Flash and Acrobat are bug ridden virus havens that hackers rely on 99% of the time in order to hack anyone. Every time I look up there's another Adobe Reader update or Flash update. I actually stopped using Adobe Reader and use a different program to read PDFs. It's so bloated as well.

And the market for Gavin has shrunk even more...

Didn't the Red Sox say they wished Kenny would have known he was trading Santos? Wonder what kind of return we could've gotten from them.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) Dinner/Date night. Dinner out at a restaurant, come home, sip some wine and watch a movie, see where it goes from there. I agree with this. Take her out to dinner, somewhere you know she will like. Then for the night out "present", take her to a comedy club. There's Zanies and Second City (stand-up or sketch comedy), depending what you're in the mood for. Both can be a little expensive for the primetime shows since they require 2 item min per person plus tickets. Second City has cheaper shows though with no 2 item minimums. Even the club Ontourage has cheap stand up shows and no item min IIRC. Good food + good laughs should do for a nice evening out and you don't have to spend a bunch of money unless you want to...

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) I haven't had Spanish since high school, but I'm pretty sure the first part is "I'm sorry to leave and change teams to the White Sox, but I believe I will have a chance this year to play" or something along those lines. Then he says how he thinks this change will give him a chance to make an important impact. Later he says he's feeling sad and happy about the trade, and he's proud of the job he did in Toronto, but knows that he might have a starting job in the future with the White Sox. Also, he said something about how he talked to the GM of the White Sox and that he said he was happy to have Molina. I also think he mentioned that the GM said he would have a better chance to start with the Sox than otherwise. That's about all I got out of it. He said something about being invited to the league towards the end, and then I couldn't catch anything at the VERY end. Very rough translation, my Spanish es muy mal these days. Doesn't sound like anything earth-shaking in the interview, though. That's about right. Said he's happy about the opportunity to possibly play at the major league level this year. It's a change for him, but he's going to benefit from it because he's possibly going to get a shot of playing with the White Sox this year. That he's already been preparing for the season for a month to get ready to endure the long season. He's been throwing off the mound for a week and the most important part is being ready physically. He's preparing himself the best he can, because he believes this is the year that he will be called up and wants to be in the best shape for it. He got a call from Alex, the Toronto GM, that he did a great job in their system and he was very happy with his performance while with them. Kenny called him and said he was very happy to acquire him and congratulate and welcome him to the sox. That he knows he's going to perform well with the white sox like he did with the jays. He's getting the invite to ST with the sox. Reiterates he's training and preparing to join the white sox.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) MLBTR says that the Blue Jays are focused on snatching up Gio. If AA pulls him off the market, that's good news for Danks' trade value to the big name contenders. Then again, if AA fleeces someone, it could set a low precedent... Doubt it. Word is the A's want kings ransom for Gio.

Buehrle Signs with Marlins | 4 yrs $58 mil

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Ha, he almost sounds like he regrets leaving Chicago already. He probably never wanted to leave, but had no choice. Unless he was willing to take that 3yr/30mil offer the sox had in mind before he became a FA. -

CJ Wilson to Los Angeles Angels of Cash

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) If only his preferred team offered him a deal like Wilson's did. I'm a little surprised (disappointed actually) at the Buehrle hate around here when he didn't even turn down a non-existent Cards or Sox offer.
