QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) I found out/remembered what ravenous creatures teenagers are. I covered a baseball game tonight and sat beside/behind 8th graders. Yuck. I was told twice tonight I look like Clay Aiken. Once by a girl. Once by a guy. I died a little inside after that. Fat people should not be allowed to play shortstop.

I seriously couldn't care less. f*** all the gossip and who's dating who s***. The entertainment business and Hollywood can have that. It should just be their business and their business alone. I won't ever concern myself with that with baseball.

I just got back from "The Break Up." I thought it was pretty good. I'm a big fan of Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Anniston is not bad to look at all, and the hint of Chicago is cool. I have to say the dinner scene is the best.

Series Preview: White Sox vs. Tigers

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) I got a feeling the next preview will be about 100 times better but that's just a hunch. Did Heads decide to write the next one again? -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) When I say that I aced a test, I usually mean that I did really well on it. That usually means I got an A, but it could be A+. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Aced means something like 95 or higher This is how I use it.

Indianapolis lands Big Ten tourney
greasywheels121 replied to greasywheels121's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Indy needs this more than Chicago does. Basektball means a lot to the state/city, and I'm happy the Big Ten was able to keep it in town. And this was in the Trib's article about the tourney. Maybe this will change your opinion a bit more Mike. "As part of the winning bid, Indianapolis agreed to pay the Big Ten $400,000 each year to make up for a possible loss in ticket sales -- Conseco Fieldhouse has about 5,000 fewer available seats than Chicago's United Center." -

I wish I could find the article, but I just remember them saying it's much easier on the team/players as far as hotels and traveling too. Because the UC is in the middle of nowhere as far as Chicago goes. -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) They probably asked that in '05. Nobody wanted to face Illinois at the UC in '05. But who was afraid of IU & PU the last two seasons, no matter the venue? It was this past March. If SoxTalk had an adequate search, I could show you the article. -

I remember when this originally was being announced that they were voting on a set site that a majority of the B10 coaches like Indy over Chicago. -

QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) 3 days of finals and then summer! Finals blow, especially right before summer. I got my SAT scores back...1930. It's about where I wanted to be so I'm happy. You're a junior, right? Any thoughts of where you're looking to go next year?

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:58 PM) Although I'm usually quite negative I have a lot of confidence in our team turning things around. No other team is on fire out there. There's a bunch of teams hovering around 31-33 wins in both leagues. We have the talent to pull away from the pack. Agreed. It's a nasty period of baseball right now. However, it is pretty damn frustrating that we could be in 1st with a decent cushion, if we had won a few of these games the last week.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) Frank get hurt today? Noticed he was PH for in the 3rd after getting a double in his 1st AB. Just looked in the GameDay to see what it was: And here comes the Frank bashing, though no one in this thread has suggested that the Sox did anything wrong by letting him go.

Series Preview: White Sox vs. Tigers By Anthony Mazzuca When looking at the schedule in March, this was just another three game series. It's now June, and the showdown with the Detroit Tigers is the biggest series the Sox have had thus far. The Sox currently stand 2.5 games back, and with these two teams not meeting again until mid July, this is a huge series for both clubs. MORE

I really don't care either way. But I do have to say that it is pathetic that someone would spend the time to gather those quotes for that site.

I wonder if Timo will get any PT at 1B.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 09:08 AM) I think the soundclip of Hawk saying "JOOOE CREDE!" should be available for listening on the main page, much like Hawks "Soxtalk, Yes!" call last year. That way I can hear it whenever i want. I've had this bookmarked since it happened. http://joecrede.ytmnd.com/ -
QUOTE(TLAK @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 09:34 AM) I love the enthusiasm of these young fans. I have two White Sox flags on my garage, a Sox logo one I’ve put up during the season for years and a World Series Championship one. Yesterday morning I was working at my desk which is at a window that overlooks the yard. A little girl, who lives down the block, maybe 10 years old, had an even younger boy in tow and they jumped the fence to get into my yard. She takes him up to the Sox logo flag and they both take off their hats and hold them over their hearts. They put them back on and walk to the WSC on one and do it again! If I remember right, I think the little boy’s Dad is a Cub fan and am pretty sure the girl was propagating the White Sox faith among the heathen. Made my day! Haha very solid.
