  1. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) just hit another solo shot this time off Johan Santana Wow. 461.
  2. Yeah. The one you titled dye4.
  3. New lineup: Pods, LF Iguchi, 2B AJ, C PK, DH Dye, RF Crede, 3B Gload, 1B Uribe, SS BA, CF JG, SP
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) I guess this will have Ozzie think twice about starting JI at 1st in the NL parks. If that's the result of this, I consider this to be great news then. I have no problem with Thome getting at bats on those trips, but he doesn't need to start. Jurassic and Frank got ABs without starting during last year's interleague stint.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Funny how we didn't hear it much at the beginning of last year. Maybe if he actually pitched worth a damn you wouldn't be hearing the joke constantly. THOME IS OUT TONIGHT! Gload is in at 1B, Kong at DH. he is day to day with a tweaked groin Fire sauce.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) Perhaps his final AAA start will be rained out, causing his comeback to be delayed by a day? It's going to take something like that to have him start in our series. However, that'd only have him on the Friday game. So it definitely wouldn't be the Fox or ESPN games.
  7. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) haha. I love the Tuxedo and Wiffle bat in the back ground! There is nothing like getting all dressed up to play a little ball! I never noticed.
  8. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:27 PM) Sweet! I think the cell is much louder and more fun at night games. Now only if the Rocket some how starts that game and we beat his ass it will be a perfect day. Not happening. He debuts on (6/22), a Thursday. The Astros are in town Friday-Sunday.
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) I bet you that Garland is more relieved than you are. Haha, I wonder how many times Garland has had the real starting lineup behind him. He's definitely had the bench/real lineups more.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:55 PM) So far, here's what I've heard about the Da Vinci Code. If you've read the book, you'll hate the film. If you haven't read the book, you'll have no idea what is going on. I hated the film and had no idea what was going on.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) We can get all 3 in if we do an all Sox ballot. I spoke too soon. Gooch is our best shot. Second Base 1. Robinson Cano, Yankees 289,394 2. Mark Loretta, Red Sox 257,125 3. Tadahito Iguchi, White Sox 246,838 4. Brian Roberts, Orioles 130,702 5. Placido Polanco, Tigers 129,596
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) Jim, where are the results? Where are the players we can point to as proof the White Sox organization is intent on developing Central American talent? You can count Arnie Munoz and Felix Diaz as recent examples if you want, but neither have proven themself as servicable major league pitchers. If our scouts are actively roaming Central America searching for amateur free agents, they've been doing a poor job. You should go and hand out fliers for the Sox.
  13. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) Yes. Ballot stuffing can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. This is true.
  14. I'm just doing my regular voting on this. I don't think there's a shot in hell that anyone on the Sox is starting. Joe Crede or PK is a better bet, since they only have to pass 2 people and not 7. I'll go all out if we're on that 32nd ballot again, but I don't see this happening at all.

  16. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) IMO, that is the reason why he has been hitting the cover off the ball lately. Nothing better than coming back to your old home and facing old teammates. The crowd gave him a good applause and he replied with 2 HR’s. That's got to help, but there's some strong coincidence in that too. Frank's always been a sluggish starter, and once the weather heats up he usually does too.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) It was worse at Old Comiskey because that place was easier to break in, and on a daily basis bullets were pulled from the cinder blocks along 35th street. Gotcha, gracias.
  18. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) bullpen has blown the last 3 opps i believe. Nah. The offense was responsible too. At least in the Toronto game.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) THE RTH's (across the DR) and what's left of the section 8 homes (a block away) are not (were not) 1.25 miles away. I am not going to argue with you. It happened. Several times. The place was also broken into dozens of times, and several times there was evidence of violence (beatings, stabbings, etc) taking place IN the park over night. Just curious, was this all with the Old Comiskey, or even in the early 90s?
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) At this point McCarthy adds little value to this team. He doesn't seem to have what it takes to come out of the pen. He should be in Charlotte pitching every 5 days. Unfortunately I have no idea who replaces his spot. As for Politte, he is toast. He should only be used for mop up duties. I think Ozzie still babies BMac too much, and they haven't used him consistently enough for him to get into a rhythm. That's got to be close for impossible for BMac to be successful, when he's been used on a consistent basis every 5 days for his entire baseball career. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) I would think that a decent right handed relief pitcher would not be that hard to acquire at the deadline, no? Also, is Hermanson still a possibility? He's a possibility but not one to expect anything at all from. It's best to move on, and if we get anything out of him, we're damn lucky.
  21. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 11:30 AM) I went on a Marlins website, and one marlin fan asked the other why SOX fans were so jealous of Cub fans (stereotype propogated by the Tribune-now widely believed myth). Another Marlin fan said it was because SOX fans were "poor" and the area around Comiskey is "rundown" and "desolate" and nobody wants to hang around the park because its "dangerous". Wow, bridgeport is home of gangs and crack houses apparently. Of course the Trib wont hurry anytime soon to quash that stereotype. I told him in no uncertain terms that Bridgeport, TheNearSouthside and Pilsen have been the HOTTEST realestate markets in Chicago Metro for years .........that million dollar homes are just in the shadows of the park, and that the area is actually one of the "safer" ones (compared to wrigleyville). SoxFan1 will say Who Cares what the Trib says, but this is what happens when people start believing Stereotypes. These are all perceptions put out by your Chicago Tribune, in order to make their product look better. Its a clear conflict of interest. Soxfan1 willsay "who cares, its their paper why should they cover the SOX?" in 1981, when the Tribune shocked critics by announcing they were buying the Cubs, Critics said wont that cause a conflict of interest (reporting the news/sox) they said NO, we promise, we will provide unbiased coverage to both teams like we've always done. We see now that was a bunch of BS. We're all new to this, but isn't that exactly what you're doing by doing a media count? There's certainly some jealousy involved with you counting/complaining about the coverage between the 2 teams. I'm very content with the amount of coverage the Sox get. All the papers do is repeat themselves anyways; there's only much you can say after one game.
  22. Okay, I went with an old Frank sig I used last year to track HRs. He has 460, but I never updated the sig.
  23. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:33 AM) Wow, this guy is really good. ^^^
