I remember in elementary school, I'd intentionally spell a word wrong just so I could sit down. I hated those things.

Dye is one of the most deserving guys on the roster. That wouldn't be one he'd be roasted for taking.

I can't believe it's already June.

6/1/06 Game Thread: White Sox @ Indians

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:30 AM) I assume it's cause you think he won't sit Konerko. The only reason I'm hoping for this lineup is that PK is struggling right now, and lefties destroy Byrd. Here's what I was talking about: http://whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/ar...t=.jsp&c_id=cws That's why I don't see it happening today. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) This is the lineup I'd like to see tonight: Pods, Iguchi, Thome, Dye, AJP, Crede, Gload, Mackowiak, Cintron Won't happen, but I did read Ozzie is planning to get Gload some PT on the upcoming homestand. -
QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) What the hell are those things...? Ghetto teletubbies.

Have a good one you 2!

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:40 AM) Hitting is not really the problem this year. Yes, we got shut out last night, but for every game the offense has cost us this season I can find three we blew on defense. We need Anderson in center. End of story. Mackowiak and Ozuna are nice bench players. Exactly. With the abilities of the rest of the team, defense is a much more important asset for our centerfielder to have, versus offense.

Hangar18's Chicago NewsMedia Watch Thread
greasywheels121 replied to Hangar18's topic in The Diamond Club
He was warned that discussing this stuff was allowable, but the members' opinions on the subject is fair game. I didn't pay too close attention to the stuff at WSI, but I'd say a majority of the Sox fans here are not big fans of discussing the media and a "bias." So just be careful with how indepth you go into this. But Hangar, we recently started a thread that may be better suited for convo like this. Check it out. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50426 -
The Sox are going to be there in the long run, but that’s a good point about the Sox not really losing games. It does seem like we’re beating ourselves, because there’s been a lot of blown opportunities of late by bad fundamentals/execution. They just need to get back to that. It is scary to think a team playing .635 ball can get any better. I disagree about sending BA down at the moment. He deserves until the end of the month/all-star break. His defense is just so damn good, and because of that, he helps us a lot more than he hurts us. He’s an undeserved scapegoat at the moment. I think it will be tough for BA to get better at the dish with this current platoon system, but hopefully he can find a way. The Sox are worse off with Mack, Pods, Ozuna, or Gload in CF. And I’m not exactly enamored with any of the outside options either. I think the bullpen is our biggest problem. I don’t have much confidence at all in Cliff this year. It’ll be a bit more until I trust Jeff Nelson out there. And my other beef with the bullpen is just the management of it. Ozzie’s over-managing a bit too much IMO. It just doesn’t seem like Ozzie’s really done much as fixing roles for the pen as of yet. Hopefully that happens soon. And I agree about BMac. He’s never going to get better, if you don’t use him more. He’ll never find a rhythm with the current role he’s been given. It does seem like the Sox are set on him being in the pen for the remainder of the season, so they should use him more like that’s the case. And that preview of the Rangers series is freaky. That’s almost word for word what I have for my series preview of the weekend series. Not bad at all for flying solo. Looking forward to the next week’s show, when the Sox are back in first place.

Cubs Acquire Phil Nevin

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) 2-4 weeks. He got his cast removed today. So that's at least a month. It's never best-case scenario with the Cubs. -

Texas is 4 games up in a weak division. They're not going to unload what's good for them. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) No guarantees that it will resemble last year's staff when it's all said and done. Being good on paper and actually getting the job done are 2 different things. And that shows that we haven't fired on all cylinders. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) Quick question....why does Hawk keep saying we haven't clicked all year? We had like 6 guys in the lineup hot at the same time for 3 weeks. Not many teams get that fortunate the whole season. I know you said it earlier this year. We've all been saying it. It still really hasn't felt like this team has fired on all cylinders. We saw what the pitching was capable of last year. It doesn't seem like we've had that going at the same time as the offense. -

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) Glad to see the Rally Crede is back. Can we work on bringing back the Crede banner. Perhaps if we incoperated Brian Anderson into the Crede Banner, this may also help. It'll definitely be looked into if this becomes a downspell for the Sox. -

Who sits out during Interleague play?
greasywheels121 replied to The-Legend-Of-Pujols's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) We could always just shift guys around, both Thome and Konerko can play 3B and Pauly could also play catcher, so instead of having to sit Thome or Konerko we could always bench one of Crede or Pierz instead. Also if you can play 3B, you can play LF so why not stick one of Thome, Crede or Kong out in LF, shift Pods to CF and bam no problem. C: Pierz 1B: Konerko 2B: Iguchi SS: Uribe 3B: Thome LF: Crede CF: Pods RF: Dye Awesome. Pablo should probably pitch too, so we get a little more offense from the 9 spot.
