QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ May 28, 2006 -> 11:34 AM) IMO Ozzie needs to be reprimanded for his obscenity laced tired yesterday. He definitely needs to apologize!! I will be surprised if he isnt fined by the organization. What is he thinking with all the obscenity? I dont have children but if I did.....well I would be pretty disappointed. Ozzie is in a leadership position in more ways than one...he must be reminded of it. Please tell me you forgot to tag that with the color green.

Houston sure does like marathons. Tied with Pittsburgh 7-7 in the 17th. Both teams have used 22 players up to this point.

Garland was probably our best go to guy when we needed a stopper last year, it'd be nice for him to be that guy again right here.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 28, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) MB did save a game in the WS last season though. Yeah, yeah... But that hitting philosophy just reminds me of when Sweet Lou threatened to start the game with his bullpen last year to get the bad innings out of the way early.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 28, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) Anyone think it might be a good idea mixing up the batting order to try to switch things up a bit? Maybe bat AJ 9th since he's not hitting for power and he could provide a bit of protection to BA and Uribe? Just a thought. That would be like starting the game with Jenks and Cotts and closing the game with Buehrle. Not very smart.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) LIAR! Mack played an inning at 3B earlier this season.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Exactly. Didn't Dye play a game at 1st last year? I'm sure if Paulie needed ONE day off, we could put Dye at 1st, Mack in right, and BA in center. That wouldn't be necessary. Mack can play 1B and 3B, but Ozzie hasn't brought him into the infield yet.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) I still say Ozzie is trying to get him going by threatening to send him down. Ozzie knows how important BA's defense is to this team and how important defense is when it comes to winning ballgames. Ozzie is a very smart guy (well, maybe not when it comes to the bullpen) and he's not just going to sacrifice defense in order to add a minimal offensive upgrade. I hope you're right.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) Well that's all cute and fun if Ozzie wants to be a b**** towards Anderson because of his "ego". Go ahead and send him down, but when Rob's bat cools off and everybody notices the defense drop off with him in CF, and we lose a game or two because of it, don't look anywhere but the mirror. And history proves that Mack will be coming back down to earth any minute now.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) I guarantee KW and Ozzie's mindset is if they need another arm in the pen more than who is gonna be our CF. Our bullpen is our biggest problem IMO. However, not all that is the pitchers in the bullpen anymore. I want to pit a lot of that on Ozzie not maximizing when to use a reliever. All another unproven arm is going to do for our bullpen, is make it an even bigger clusterf***.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) Anderson will be a VERY good player in the long run, and maybe a good hitter sooner rather than later, but it's such a battle to be patient with him when we are trying to win another World Title and are all of a sudden 3.5 games out. BA's one of the last reasons we're 3.5 out.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) BA has just looked so brutal at the plate. Right now people are just looking for signs of life, but he's not really showing any glimmers of hope. Even Ozzie's comments show he's getting frustrated. Nobody's questioning what he can become in the future, just what he can do to help this team this year right now to keep winning. How is BA being sent down going to help the Sox? BA helps this club a lot more than he hurts it. This club will be a hell of a lot worse off with Mack, Pods, Ozuna, or Gload starting in CF.
-
QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) Well Anderson hitting .165 wasn't going to last forever. He's either got to produce at the dish or be shipped out. It's that simple. And I'd still rather have BA starting in CF over Pods, Mack, Ozuna, or Gload.
-
QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) Would Anderson have to serve his pending suspension at the MLB level or down in AAA if he were sent? I'm pretty sure that that's the last thing on anyone's mind right now.
-
QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) WTF is another "pitcher" going to do for us? In case Ozzie hasn't noticed, the cupboard on immediate relief talent is EMPTY. Nobody in the farm is close to being even an average MLB reliever. If this move is indeed made, it leaves the MLB roster without one MLB CF. That is beyond belief. Mackowiak, despite the 8 in the lineup card, is in no way, shape, or horribly run route, a MLB CF. And Mack's so damn streaky. He'll look just as he did in April in due time.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) If Anderson is shipped out, we're in trouble. One of the main reasons this team has such good pitching is because of the amazing defense that is played behind them. We're going to be seeing outfields of Pods>MackPods ^^^ I don't like this at all. And to suggest that he'd want another pitcher up is pretty foolish, considering Ozzie still really hasn't figured out how to use the current pen effectively. This would be a horrible, horrible move.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 27, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) Am I the only one missing a banner for like say the last 12 hours? Hmm...It's showing up for me. Rowand said the same thing to me last night. Tell me if you see it in like 2 minutes. -
Have a good one Jim, Barto, and Frank!

QUOTE(dasox24 @ May 27, 2006 -> 01:43 AM) That line was absolutely hilarious! The entire theater erupted in laughter... Anyway, I thought the movie was badass. Although, I don't know anything about the comic, so I don't know what the director made up and what really happened in the comic. Basically, everyone that knows the comic is disappointed, and anyone that knows very little about the comic loves it. Therefore, I fall into the latter. It's kinda like a novel that's made into a movie. You just don't have enough time to develop story lines, etc. when you only have 2 hours or so to work with. That's why anyone that has read the novel will think the movie sucks ass, and anyone that hasn't read the novel will normally think it's a pretty good movie. Haha a couple people in my theater screamed out "Charles!"
