  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) That's basically how I feel. The record might show we're playing as well as we can but it doesn't feel like we are. We might not have a better stretch during the season with games won but I bet there will be a stretch where we play better baseball. I know we touched upon that earlier this year, but it still feels that way. It's weird. I guess that's what expectations do after a WS.
  2. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 24, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) I would take a fireballer with no command over El Duque any day of the week, unless it's October and my team is alive That's why I don't like this trade for Arizona. They're in first right now, and have a great chance to contend in that NLW. I don't know if Julio will prove to be more valuable than Duque.
  3. Bad trade for the DBacks. They're contending right now in the NLW. I don't see this doing anything but hurting them.
  4. QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 24, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) Thanks alot Greasy! If you still have my e-mail address, and if you want to let me know what you did, step by step, I'd appreciate it. As I'm writing this, I see all of the URL's are that you posted up.They're the same ones that I tried. Can't figure out how you got them all to work. When I tried, my posting came up empty with this icon that said " Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed" Either way, thanks for your patience and help. Not a problem. I still have the e-mail, and I'll let you know what I did either later tonight or early tomorrow.
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) Ugh. Of course everyone will love this until Mack starts giving away games with his D, then everyone will hate it again. Brutal idea if this is on a more permanent basis. Mack is a terrible CF. To be honest I would rather see them move Pods to CF and let Mack play LF. People always said Mack would be utilized like a starter when he gets going, because he's incredibly streaky. I feel this is just for the short-term. And I agree that BA should be out there the majority of the time.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 24, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) I don't know if Ozzie's words equate to "a majority". We'll see. Changed the wording.
  7. Pods, LF Cintron, 2B Thome, DH PK, 1B Dye, RF AJ, C Crede, 3B Mack, CF Uribe, SS Buehrle, SP
  8. You're certainly ambitious. Banner looks good.
  9. Good article. I almost feel that USCF or the fans should be in the hot section. For the home success the Sox have had, and the reception Frank got.
  10. Alright, Tom sent me his pics from Frank's return game. And here they are. Once again, thanks for sharing these!
  11. Haha you're fine man, this is not a problem at all.
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) For your enjoyment. Dumbest guy on Millionaire! Where do I go to fix the fact that I can't post the video like some people? I was looking for that after your first post. To post it as a video, copy the Embed link. And then post options under the smileys, click the pull down for HTML to autobreak.
  13. QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) originally, I wanted to post the photos in 2006 White Sox Photos forums. I saw how Felix had the thumbnail pictures so you can see the photo that you are clicking on, instead of just the URL, and then when clicking on them it gave you a full size image. That's what got me started on this whole thing. Sorry for the hassel. If it makes it any easier to figure out, would you like me to e-mail the full sized pictures to either one of you? Sure. I'll PM you my email addy.
  14. QUOTE(Goldmember @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) just take out the ".th" of the above links... edit: odd, nm that didn't work... Yep, that's what I thought too. For some reason the link in this post was able to just be copied and pasted, to work fine.
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 24, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) I think if we keep it fresh, more people would use the front page. Let us know what things you all would like to see. I agree. We've got some ideas for some new things to try, so I'll begin to help with the maintaining of the frontpage. But as a spectator, I enjoy the articles and everything. And I do like it, when it's kept fresh. I like what Boz has been doing to the main block, by updating that daily through the start of the Cubs series and the beginning of the Oakland series. I also find the Sox news article links very beneficial, having all those in one spot.
  16. I think I figured out the problem. I can at least post the proper links of the images for you Rooftop. Just give me like 2 minutes. Hmm..Well I can't on the ones you originally posted, but the URL you posted in the second post can be seen at this link. Pic 1
  17. They look good, but if you ever have the time could you try uploading them again, so we could see the full-sized versions? Copy and paste the link that I have highlighted in this pic below:
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 24, 2006 -> 09:01 AM) I was told that in his first AB Gene Honda announced him like he used to when he was on our team. I didn't even catch that when it happened. That's what I heard too (as being the 2nd tribute). However, Reifert probably shouldn't have told us anything about that, because that's really nothing IMO. You almost expecting something like that; ala when Jordan came back to the UC as a Wizard.
  19. I'm glad they do though. I love watching the guy hit. Baseball's boring when they're just pitching around people constantly. It's kind of like what Wilbon says on PTI, how the game's sissified because of all that. The pitchers just need to learn how to keep him in the park.
  20. QUOTE(WinningUgly85 @ May 24, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) actaully Konerko was a catcher in one point during his career. I know that. But that's been years. Konerko will never play a position outside of 1B or DH for the rest of his career.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 24, 2006 -> 02:38 AM) I remember commenting in the chat before his appearance Thome shouldn't have to bat in a 9-3 game entering the 8th inning. That's probably the situation he tweaked his groin. Guillen has to take beter care of him in circumstances such as last night. If Thome is expected to play several games at 1st base in national league parks, we should avoid situations where an AB isn't necessary; such as blowouts. It always seems those are the times when people have injuries. There's a thread on an article that was written before anything was known about Thome. Ozzie didn't sound too warm to the idea of playing Thome at 1B, and I'm glad to hear it.
