Official Cheer Frank Thomas Tomorrow Thread
greasywheels121 replied to GoRowand33's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 21, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) how about we settle on polite applause for thomas? I'd just suggest that the people that feel the need to boo to not show or not do anything at all when he was up to bat. They'll just look as stupid as they perceive Frank to be, if they do otherwise. -

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 21, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) You have a short memory then since he ripped the organization for choosing Thome over him in the off season. If he was the class act you say he is then he would have realized that he didn't have it anymore and stepped aside gracefully. Where'd I say that? All I said was that he's the greatest player in White Sox history. -
I'm upset. However, I'm not embarssed. I am embarassed at some of the "fans" on here.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 21, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) Difference between Thome and Thomas. Thome didn't rip his organization and he didn't constantly whine to the media about money. Thome is a class act and an outstanding ball player. Big Skirt is a washed up, loudmouthed jackass who can't do anything but run his damn mouth anymore. Shoulda hung it up 2 years ago. All I remember seeing is Frank saying he didn't get along w/ KW. I'll give you that Frank said the wrong things at times. However, Frank's the greatest player to ever wear the White Sox uniform. You'll look exactly as you perceive Frank, if you were to boo him. -

For the few that feel the need to boo Frank, what'd you think of Thome's return to Cleveland? I don't know about you, but I don't want to be grouped in the same circle as those Cleveland fans. That was completely classless. -
Hawk definitely took his jab at Hill.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 21, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) Why celebrate their accomplishments over ours? Plus it's 100 years since the 1906 WS. Celebrating a 98th year anniversary is kind of random.

Ozzie Jr. seems pretty cool.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 21, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Dude, don't take out my broom like that again. I've never heard of any sort of policy. I'll ban your ass. :-) It's been in place since we've had the broom smiley. But now you know.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) He's enjoyable in the booth. However, lets hope he doesn't start celebrating a flyball as an easy out, even though it goes over the fence by 50 feet (what he did at Wrigley last year with Dubois at the plate). "Thataboy...OH NOOO...The wind just kept blowing!"
-
I hope he's in the booth with Hawk and DJ today. QUOTE(SnB @ May 21, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) i love how nancy keeps playing that 'bad day' song The best part is that she's playing it while Barrett's in the box.

Boone Logan Sent Down to Charlotte

Well now the very awful Chuck Norris/Boone Logan jokes can completely come to an end. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 21, 2006 -> 12:13 PM) I swear it is like dealing with the Cubs fans when it comes to Frank... I forgot he can do no wrong... Carry on. Did you honestly learn anything new from his comments? As far as I can see, he told us everything we already know. Apparently all Frank does is wrong. Since being honest is such an awful thing.

Well the last time we wore throwbacks...

QUOTE(DannyCooksey @ May 21, 2006 -> 11:50 AM) This is incorrect. Oswalt drilled Barrett in Houston 1 batter after Ramirez hit a 475 foot homer off him to give the Cubs a late inning lead. The next pitch was 96 between Barrett's numbers. Oswalt started that garbage with Barrett, not the other way around. That said, Barrett was out of line yesterday and will be reprimanded accordingly. I applaud Barrett for 1 reason: he at least cares. the rest of that sad array of north-side check collectors show absolutely no life whatsoever. Barrett is an emotional, fiery guy and unfortuantely its misdirected more often than not. I'm sure it was a case of severe frustration boiling over. That doesn't make it right what he did, though. As a Cub fan I am pulling for the sweep today as maybe there will finally be some action taken this coming week. Finally, you Sox fans have a great team to cheer for. Excellent and strong in all facets. The only way you guys don't EASILY win the WS again is if the plane crashes, or Buehrle, Contreras, Konerko miss a couple months each. That's not gonna happen, so I think you guys repeat. Good luck the rest of the way and when you come to Wrigley, I'm certain you guys will sweep there also.

Did he say anything new? We all know KW and him had a beef. Now let the Frank-bashing continue again.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:21 AM) Does this mean Pedro Gomes gets reassigned to the professional putt putt league? My guess is he'll be stalking Bonds, until he retires. However, I hope ESPN backs off a bit, since it'll be quite some time before he gets in range of Aaron's number.

Any Word On Big Franks Condition?

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 21, 2006 -> 11:15 AM) http://whitesoxpride.mlblogs.com/ Good to hear. -
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:47 AM) The MLB page on ESPN.com has a poll for how many games Barrett should be suspended. And the majority believe he should be gone more than 10 games.

Reifert owns Moronotti pretty good: http://whitesoxpride.mlblogs.com/inside_th.../05/sunday.html

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 21, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) What does it matter if Boone Logan or Augustin Montero get suspended? They are useless as relievers, might as well use them for something. One of them will be gone before today's game starts.
-
Nice avy BigSqwert.
-
Save those for after the game. We've always had that policy. ----------------- Pods, LF Iguchi, 2B Thome, DH PK, 1B Dye, RF AJ, C Crede, 3B Mackowiak, CF Uribe, SS Contreras, SP ----------------- I can't wait to hear AJ's reception today, and I wish BA was in the lineup today for that reason. However, Mack's got some awesome numbers against Zambrano. Do it big Count!
-
QUOTE(ShoeLessRob @ May 21, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) Heh yeah, the post before you was pretty unaccurate but let's not defend Zambrano now. Yeah. Facts are completely irrelevant.
