  1. Wow, I'm shocked this is only 19 pages. I guess it's a good thing this happened on a Friday night, or it could have been ugly in here.
  2. I've been to that Pizzeria Uno multiple times.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 5, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) Only in ultra-emergencies?? If Konerko injures his wrist by e-mailing his friend on the internet, and Gload falls asleep in a tanning bed too long on the same day, THEN I'll let Thome start at 1B.
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 5, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Do you guys think it's too risky to flip-flop PK and JT once in a while? Should they risk running Jim out to 1B? I know he takes grounders there during BP, and I don't think he'll embarrass anyone out there. Just wondering what you guys think - I really can't decide if the safer route of having him be a pure DH is the best option or not. I think we should have Thome follow the Frank policy.
  5. Uhhh Jas...We play the Royals tonight. The Seattle series was a 2 gamer.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 5, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) Until the Twins learn how to develop young hitters at the major league level, they're not got going to get higher than 4th in the division for a while. And really considering where they were a few seasons back, that's quite depressing for a Twinkies fan. I thought the Sox were the only ones that couldn't develop talent at the Major League level.
  7. QUOTE(mreye @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:23 PM) Forgive me, but "LTP" ?? Light tower power.
  8. For once I think I'll be glad I don't really have Chicago Sports radio readily available. Hopefully that keeps Sean Salisbury off of ESPN.
  9. QUOTE(WCSox @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) In a three game series, you could either go with three games with one's lineup at 89% or one game at 67% plus two at 100%. In some cases, going with the second option is more favorable. BTW, how many games have Paulie and Thome missed so far this year? I'm almost positive that PK hasn't sat yet, and Thome's sat just once.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) No love for Brian Anderson? He's made some great plays, I'm not denying that. However, we see those plays made in the OF every night on BBTN. Crede and Gooch's plays were one of a kind, IMO.
  11. I think Ozzie is just trying to assure that this doesn't happen again, by giving him the few days off. However, I think they would have placed him on the DL, if it were truly that severe.
  12. Check his keyboard!!
  13. I think Joe made the better play. However IMO, Gooch's play still looked a lot prettier, but it was almost all unnecessary.
  14. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ May 4, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) I'm impressed by the start, and certainly happy--but I wouldn't be etching the new rings yet, or even filling in the playoff roster. The season is still not even 1/5 of the way done. Onforseen injuries could occur to key playes or the offense might slump--I like the Sox's chances as good as anyones, but it's early, and I'm not getting overconfident. The schedule hasn't been too tough yet, and we'll soon see how we stack up against the Yankees, Red Sox, Tribe, and Oakland. I don't see one person in this thread talking about buying their playoff tickets. This thread was just simply to celebrate getting to 20 wins. Thanks for entirely missing the point.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 4, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) If Kobe does that stupid little fist pump one more time I am going to kick him in the head
  16. Well the Pacers are done, despite Ashy Larry dropping 40. There will definitely be some major changes this summer. And the best news IMO is that it's almost impossible for Artest to f*** a third consecutive season for the Pacers next year. But I won't put it past him.
  17. ^^^^ I don't know why, but I feel bad for them. I liked when we were going at it in the first part of this decade for some reason. It's probably fact that right now Cleveland's our main rival in the division, but I don't like them. I can't respect or like them as a rival the same way I do Minnesota.
  18. I remember early in the season last year, I wanted to see the Sox eclipse 20 wins before they had 10 losses. They pulled it off last year, and it's very cool to see them do it again.
  19. Here's the ones Felix had on the temp board.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ May 4, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) I'll tell you what...I really enjoyed the other board. I was unable to post on there, but I saw some very intelligent posters. Mr. Optimism seemed like a dick though. ^^^^ Someone stole my name over there.
  21. Spiderman's definitely my favorite of this comic book genre of movies. The new Batman was very good; I bet the Superman will be solid also.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) How can Cincinatti not be considered a legitimate contender? The same reason Baltimore and Texas weren't last year.
  23. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 2, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) BTW, the transformation is complete, I have totally forgotten the previous screen name for Rex Kickass I do remember Fanof14 I had to think for a second, but it was winodj. I can't remember the casing though.
  24. I simply believe you're just expecting too much. As I said earlier, I've never seen a team have the complete package at the major league and minor league levels. And I don't believe the Sox will be the first. Hence, this argument will be cyclical and never-ending. So I'm moving on.
  25. Daly's a funny guy, and great to root for when he's going well. But that's just f***ing pathetic.
