It was too cold for Freddy today; you know he likes to sweat. I blame the weather.

Sox vs. Indians - 4/5 Game Thread

I told Heads to preserve his powers, but he won't listen. I'll take the W though. -
QUOTE(boltsrus @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) THE BOX SCORE AT ESPN.COM SEEMS TO INDICATE A FEW EMPTY SEATS. Stadium: U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago, IL Attendance: 38,802 (95.5% full) Game Time: 2:59 Temperature: 57 degrees, cloudy Wind: 15 mph That's full capacity now. ESPN hasn't updated the max for the Cell. They took out a few thousand seats in the UD, when they renovated.

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) Personally I don't mind the Indians fan if he talks baseball. To me that means talking baseball, not cheerleading, because that will agitate people. The other thing is, half of his posts were defending himself, tweaking Abe Froman, and insisting he wasn't here to start trouble. He should just talk baseball and ignore the potshots ... ha ... like this one I guess. The potshots got to be a bit too much though. It was driven into the ground by a couple posters, just because they're upset by the game today. Just ignore the Indians fan, if he's that annoying to you. SoxTalk's obviously a White Sox-dominated website, but we've never discouraged fans of other teams to post here. -

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) This is actually very good for the White Sox, to get their ass kicked on Game 2. It wakes them up. The big win on Opening Day and then the feel-good ring ceremony would leave most teams a little self satisfied. Nice K there by Cotts. I'm liking that perspective. -

QUOTE(Spiff @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) Everyone discussing stepping off ledges or not stepping off ledges should step off a ledge. What about people discussing people stepping off ledges? -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) Freddy had nothing today on his fastball and is coming off a huge workload season where his velocity was down a bit as it was. And the Buehrle giving up 3 run leads thing is something that started a while ago and was seen as recent as his last start (game 2 of the World Series.) My apologies for bringing up discussion points, I'll make sure to be the eternal happy guy and start all encouraging threads from now on. The Freddy thread's a bit more warranted. However, I guess I just have to accept it's the way you are. I've noticed from the CBB forum and here that you're very extreme on your opinions. You have no apprehension of throwing people under the bus when s*** hits the fan. I'm not saying you're a bad fan at all, but it appears you've got a little Peyton Manning in you.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Remember the mantra from last year, guys? At least it was with my little group: just win the series and we'll be fine. First half, last year, we did that like clockwork. We'd take those two out of three. Usually it would be the first two and Ozzie would put in the bench for game three it we were up 2-0. That's all you need to worry about. If we lose today, then take it tomorrow. That series-win mentality got us there last year, no reason it shouldn't this year as well. And those of you expecting that pretty, pretty start like last year--well even I know that's never gonna happen again anytime soon. Now step off the damn ledge already... Solid post. You would figure people would finally understand that the baseball season is a long one after a year like 2005, and that would result in finding that medium of not being too reactionary either way. However, it seems some people have just gotten more foolish. I guess I'll just have to live outside of the hell hole that is the game threads again. -

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Glad to see it took one game and a few innings before the lemmings lined up to be the first to jump off of the Hancock again... Me first! Me first! -
Haha, I agree with nothing that guy said. And he can't even report facts; he claims we didn't sell out Sunday night.
-
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Its also a day game, and Freddy is the one who is nottatoogood in the daytime, right? Freddy's got a history of pitching solid in the day. However, perfect conditions for Freddy are a day game and it being on the road.

We've had the Buehrle thread Sunday night, and now the Freddy one today. I can't wait for the thread on Jose tomorrow.

Freddy could get his 100th career win today. -
QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) Thanks for all the info guys, we got the package and were both able to access games yesterday. I have a cable modem, so I didn't experience any delay. As for the blackout policy, maybe they lifted it this year. I was able to watch the Cubs game even though it was on WGN and also able to watch all the games that were being televised on ESPN, which I thought would also be blacked out. Where'd you register from or live? I haven't looked into it this year, just assuming the same rules carried over. I'll have to check it out, otherwise.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) Dr. Pepper (or Dr. Thunder!) DQ or Tastee-Freez? DQ. Dollar-Dog Thursday or Half-Price Monday?

I hate how this area is blacked out. I really would love to have it for April and September, when I don't have CSN. But from what I understand, the Sox games would be blacked out. I can't hear today's game, but I do have the radio thing, that came with the Sox Pride package. That was mainly the only reason I bought that.

Gracias Cheat.

Alright, enough of that. Just let it be. Some people are going to root for Frank, and some aren't. This thread doesn't need to be closed again. It'd be nice if this can be a thread to update what's going on with him throughout the season. Just keep the arguing out of it.

Heh, HR. His 449th career HR.
