  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Another fun fact, Lunardi actually got 2 teams wrong this year for the first time ever? I always here he gets all but 1 teams right every year, but this year Air Force and Utah State got into spots he had Cincinnati and Florida State getting. Pwned, although I feel kinda bad for him. This is the most poorly done bracket of all time, so for him to only miss 2 teams isn't that bad. He was way off on the seeding, although really he had the seeding right and the committee did it wrong. Maybe we should just have Lunardi do the brackets every year from now on. That's always been the dig against Lunardi though; he's never accurate on seeds.

  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) So...is there any news around about Vaden's ankle? He's considered day-to-day, but it'll take a lot for him to not play. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...420/1004/SPORTS
  4. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) "We'll see when it comes" doesn't mean he closed the book. Did you read the article? It's all highly unlikely. First, Indiana would have to get that far in the tournament. And there's a couple things in the article I left out pretty much leaving no reason to consider it:
  5. FWIW, Rowand is not giving any of the chalk teams a chance in the first round; every pick is an upset.
  6. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) I know this would never happen, but it'd save a lot of problems for the selection commitee. I believe the NCAA owns the NIT tournament now and I think it'd be cool if the selection commitee picked the top 48 schools and put them in the NCAA tournament, leaving 16 open spots and then put all of the bubble teams and then some in the NIT tournament fighting for the last 16 spots. I know it won't happen because college basketball woudln't want to wait for 1-2 weeks to get the cames played by the NIT but I think it'd be fun to do. Those bubble teams would be tired as hell. They'd never have a shot.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) A&M and Kent are the 12's to watch......A&M is talented and playing very well, and the Golden Flashes (who you will remember as the team that destroyed your bracket going to the elite 8 in 2001 with Antonio Gates) are a veteran team with the offensive firepower to score 60 points plus on Pittsburgh, and lord knows that's the kind of game Pittsburgh isn't a fan of. Utah State and Montana will both get blown out IMO. It was 2002; IU played them to get into the FF during that run.
  8. It's a different Kansas team altogether; so there's no telling how they'll respond. And I don't think what Jimbo says or thinks will have any effect on the outcome of the next couple weeks.

  10. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...RTS11/603130423 DJ's comes off his stance of leaving, regardless of what happens after the season now. Also, he closed the book on coming back this year, and I like the way he did it.

  12. Checking out the bracket breakdowns on CBS: This region contains 20 national championships split between UCLA (11), Indiana (five), Kansas (two), Arkansas and Marquette (one each).
  13. QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) I have the same........i think that means you should change your pick. Haha, that's definitely scary.
  14. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) No kidding, It sucked Welcome back. And BTW, I'm not banned, and I didn't even have to pray.
  15. I'm very pleased with what IU's got set in front of them, but I don't see them taking advantage of it. We got the potential 2nd round match that everyone wanted to get against Gonzaga. The homer in me believes we've got a great shot with the way we're playing and the regional we're in; however, I don't want blind optimism to screw myself out of any brackets.
  16. With the Tournament selections moments from being announced; the great CBB thread of 2005-2006 has officially run its course.
  17. What an unreal ending. I went upstairs w/ tOSU up 4, and I come back down and Iowa was up 5. Congrats to Iowa for winning the BTT.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) In my pessimistic opinion, we're going to have to acquire another big league arm for our bullpen before the season starts. Our starting pitching is too talented/expensive to waste because of a couple of glaring holes in the pen. You should start all your posts like that, definitely made me laugh.
  19. QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Actually, he is a POY candidate because he broke a 3 pt record and he plays at Duke. But, your wrong...he cannot create his own shots, I wont say he's a horrible ball handler but he is no better than average, and hes not a good passer. He is about the definition of a one trick pony. No, he's become a lot better player this year. He goes inside a lot more now, and that's raised his game to a different level than past years.
